Weedkiller

The b&q stuff seems to be killing them but now I've got hedge with a rot iron fence sticking out of it which I need to remove. Thinking about cutting it down and then killing off the roots with something much stronger.

Its evil stuff, kills everything, total wipeout. No smell, get it on your hands and your in trouble, I live on a farm and I used it once, never again. Unless its a field, get thick gloves and pull the weeks out by hand and dig the roots out, eg Bramble, Ragwort even Nettles. if its Bracken just keep cutting it and it will come less and less. I hate all weedkiller, serious stuff.

You need adequate protection using that s***. Proper rubber gloves, lab coat, goggles and if spraying - a face mask. You will be fine then, as long as you don't eat the results.

Later I'll show what Roundup has done, just down my lane is an elderly gentleman and hasn't got long to live. During the winter I help him collect seweed off the beach, dig his little veg patch and whilst he had a stay in hospital I bought little trays of veg and planted them. They grew and were the darkest green ever and I was really chuffed, so was he when he returned. Just beyond his little garden is one of my fields and the Bracken is dreadfulbut unfortunatly my strimmer broke and the weed just grew, well! another farmer is going to cut it. My man with the veg patch said I'll spary it with Roundup and I said please don't as on the other side of the field are wild flowers and the last thing he needs with blood cancer is taking any chances. I bought a scythe and as I walk into the field I could see something not right with his garden and the bracken just through the gate.
With SPK the nettles will wilt straight away but with broadleaf spray it'll take a few days to show. I said to him please don't say you have sprayed and he just smilied. The result in the field all the grass is dead and his veg are as well, I'll go shortly and taken photos of his veg and the bracked. He used a watercan and as he walked into the field the water/solution tipped out of the can on to the veg by the edge. I haven't seen him for days, he won't come out of the house, he is gutted and so was I.

I imagine until you do live video streams corroborated by all world's leading bankers some people will keep screaming tin foil hat and conspiracy theory. That's the state of current affairs but we will take this to the daylight.

Do you want to try that again, perhaps in a manner which is actually coherent? o_O

Brilliant stuff, I even get to play with the professional stuff too, that and "worse"
But then I make a living out of killing stuff, and once killed I want it to stay dead!

Oh sorry I haven't consumed enough flouride, alcohol and presstitute media yet

You better have hard proof or this will backfire on you.

Oh really.... Calm down princess.
You cannot deny you have ingested other substances. Did I mention anywhere exactly what substances?

How have I "defamed" you?

And whilst we're on the subject, you yourself are not found wanting on that front.

I've got a hedge to rip out next, was going to try and kill it but I think I'll just dig it out.

Another hell bent on cutting it off at the ankles :( went to the Kray school of landscaping did we? :(

Been shopping this afternoon and bought these wonderful strawberries and the traffic was so slow going home started to eat them. Not all of them but enough, ripe and juicy. Just unpacked the shopping and on the front of whats left of the strawberries, wash before eating. I'm doomed, its the end, omg. The end is nigh. I may never see the end of this thread:agree:

Brilliant stuff, I thought my post was brilliant too, thank you.:cobra:I'd rather alter the middle word, like.

Any chance you guys could shake hands and agree that you simply have different opinions on it? I can't see either of you changing your minds! Lol

Back to the windswept and interesting topic of gardening, does anyone know of a corded electrical grass strimmer which uses blades rather than poxy nylon wire? All the ones I can find are either cordless or petrol bushmasters.
I've got a petrol one you can borrow and mend it, the fllter is blocked. You have to pull a cord, it usually takes me so long to start it, I have to switch it off for a cup of tea and start again. It can take all day.

A lot of weed killers seem useless. Boiling water works very fast. I use salt on block paving. I gave up with roundup as it would take weeks for any weeds to die and by then loads more had grown so it was useless.

Its best to do it in the hot sun, 24 hours and they are brown

Did that. They didn't notice. It was about a week before they had noticed and started browning even slightly. Boiling water turns them brown within a couple of hours.

Do what in the hot sun exactly, sunbathing do you mean.
No that'll give you cancer (Allegedly) spray the weeds
