Not a plug for part of my business, but I hire out Snow Machines, lots of times they have been used at weddings in the Winter.
So, ( in a small way) you can have control over the weather ( sometimes)!

Interesting read this thread - even some of the pros have had nightmare weddings by the sound of it!
 
Well when you do enough weddings, you're dealing with a cross section of the public so you'll get all sorts. You'll meet some wonderful people, but inevitably, some not so wonderful ones too. ;)
 
Oh and my daughter who is getting married in a couple of years asked me to go with her to a wedding fair and suss out the photographers.I got talking to a husband and wife team whose work personality and attitude were brilliant and advised her to consider them.She preferred some flash git who talked the talk but I doubt will be able to walk the walk,so if she moans about the results ITS NOT MY FAULT

i did a wedding last year in a very bland looking reg office . it rained all bl**dy day . when i gave the Bride the photo`s i said sorry for the fact we only had a handful outside .
she said they are fantastic i didn`t think we would get any decent photo`s . thankyou ! , it`s not your fault it rained.
if only all people were like this

For everyone that has said this - this kind of nuttiness is the exception rather the rule. I've had the crying father request and one other complaint - that I had missed a shot - I had, in four years and 150+ weddings.

I spent 5 hours shooting a wedding on Saturday and I really, no honestly really, wanted to get a pic of granny smiling. In the whole 5 hours her face never cracked the once. As I was leaving I asked her if she had a nice day.

"Oh lovely", she replied "One of the happiest days of my life" :thinking:
 
Worst one I ever had was told the wrong time of the wedding by bride and groom. Dutifully turns up to a locked Registry Office precisely 1.5 hours after the wedding......needless to say it was my fault:bang:

A brilliant pro I worked with used to come up with various phrases, and this one is to couples arriving late for the wedding, when everyone looks pretty missy anyway..

''Hya.. [and looking directly at the womans hair] ...did you come on the back of his motorbike?''

If you're out there Martin, you'll remember the woman's face :gag:
