Yes
My sister got engaged yesterday and I will be doing the pics for the big day but also had the idea of doing a website for their wedding to detail local hotels for guests, where the reception is etc all the usual stuff, I have done a couple in the past for others but wondered if anyone had any decent templates or layouts that they might be willing to share, plan is to use Dreamweaver and buy some cheap hosting for a year.

Thanks in advance

Thanks Brains will have a look at Joomla

woooaaaa that looks a bit mental oriental, not sure if I can understand all that, I normally just design the page in Dreamweaver and upload to the webspace, any pointers with Joomla cos it looks like I need to have the server first?

Cool will look at that as well, keep em coming peeps, thanks

Take a look at Wordpress http://wordpress.org/ - easy peasy :)

To be honest though - Joomla rocks if you have the time to learn it ;)

yeah mate liking that some crackers in there

You'll find lots of stuff on Joomla. If not for this project then I would recommend having a go at it at some point. Makes updating sites easy. You just need a hosting account that supports Joomla. There are loads with CPanel which makes installation a breeze...literally a few clicks and the site is up and running.

I've been switching a few of my sites across to Joomla recently.

Wordpress is also good although I find it a bit restrictive when compared to Joomla.

Dreamweaver...still great, but time consuming.

Good luck in your decision.

i can offer some web space for you never had downtime yet i rent webspace off a server and only run two sites off it.

I have unlimited accounts so i can offer you some space for a donation Amount of your choice to tp and a link on your site,
even on a link page would be fine let me know

for details i have link for you website and it will be the pro package if you want the pro plus i will work a good price out for you

check theturninggate.net for lightroom galleries if you got that way...lots in there

Another vote for Lightroom galleries (especially from theturninggate.net) all you need is some webspace and they upload straight from Lightroom...

You do need to have the server first, but there is nothing to stop you running the server on your local machine until you are happy and then shifting code and DB to a website.

Look at XAMMP to do this.

Brave man doing a family wedding,I did a Cousins daughter a few years ago and although they were happy with the shots the day was very fraught trying to organise all those relatives

Thanks guys.

I have done my Step-Sisters wedding as well, my Dad was going to shoot it but while taking the first few shots he managed to fall 40ft down a marble staircase fracturing his arm (we found out later, thank god he didn't kill himself). Luckily the D2x bounced down the stairs, 18-70 was not so lucky.

So instead of just doing the Video and a few Candids, he shot most of the ceremony with me backing up and videoing and then I ended up doing all the groups and candids while he fixed himself, he also made life difficult by breaking the only flash we had, but all worked out in the end as we were in Greece at the time at 40 celcius so plenty of natural light

but I was knackered and sweating buckets all day as a result,so hopefully this one will be a lot easier, with 2 flashes and even more backups as we don't have to carry it all to Greece, only Hertford :)
