At what point do you take the ring pics and how do you get the rings?

Presumably before the wedding?

Think we had some taken whilst we were signing the register. It was nearly 25 years ago so a little memory fade I'm afraid

It totally depends on the timing. Ideally it'd be whilst they're still with the best man but we sometimes just borrow them whilst the couple are mingling.
Or of course whilst they're wearing them.

I usually try and do it before as the bride is often reluctant to remove the ring after the wedding (bad luck and all that) I'll usually try and get some on the hand, some holding and some on book/table or whatever depending on where I am

Funnily I had this discussion this morning with a couple. Unfortunately I'm not going to have access at their Wedding so it wiill be after the ceremony.

Normal I try and do it before

I normally try to do it while taking photos of the groom & best man getting ready but if that fails I'll grab the rings off the couple at some convenient point during the day. Never had anyone complain about having to take their rings off.

Shots of rings on fingers well those at any point I get a chance to.

How about before the ceremony when the groom and best man are lurking around at the church? Can get some nice shots with the ring in his palm, shot of groom thru the ring being held up by bestman etc??

I usually borrow the ring from the b&g before the wedding for some creative ring shots and as for ring on fingers shot, i usually do it journalistic style during the wedding.

I'd always like some before they are put on, allows you to be more creative. Although last 2 weddings I didn't have the chance too, in fact the last one I didn't get chance to get the shot until 11:30 at night :D

One of the most 'pro' shots of the night:

Borrow the rings and do a shot first, like just before the ceremony ... most of the time mens hands aren't quite as "manicured" as ladies... Even more so if the guy is a builder or mechanic !!
