This may seem a personal choice question, but, my sister asked me to take pictures for her at her wedding and no pressure as she said to me even if I only get one decent one it's fine, but my question is, do people still use vinegrette or not ?

I have some good pictures and just doing a little post processing and wondered is it something I should be adding in Lightroom or not ?

Thanks in advance.

Personally I am not fond of vinegrette, I think wedding pics always look better with a bit of horse radish or, at a push, just some ketchup :D

Would of been dark, and thanks YV, ( I think ) so it is really down to personal choice, I think I may do a copy of each with and without and let her make her mind up on which one - yes I know that's a kop out

You're just being mean! After all, we don't even know if the wedding breakfast is going to be organic or orgasmic! :D

Sorry, that was too much to resist. Seeing as I am assuming you mean a vignette, then generally speaking when editing wedding photos, I prefer without unless on B&W and even then its a very gentle, well feathered type, so its barely noticeable. I will sometimes use a heavier one for 1st dance, but thats about it.

That's the one YV, I think predictive text on iPad keeps changing it :-)

Thanks again for the advice.

A good vignette can look great, but badly done on a mediocre image and it's car crash.

I quite like the dark vignette, but as Yvonne has said, it should be subtle, I sometimes use them to hide something I couldn't remove through either composition or cropping

I often use a subtle one, but the action I use is also a great cheat for 1st dance pics.

I'll usually put one or two shots with a dark vignette in the selection disk but I wouldn't do them all. Don't use a light vignette really.

Shot a wedding over the weekend, and processing the images atm. I've only used vignette once, for a B&W shot of the couple walking through a kind of arc formed by trees in the grounds of the hotel. It just worked for that, a subtle dark, feathered vignette. I was thinking it might be the album cover, not sure yet. Anyway, I don't shoot weddings in general, but I don't tend to use vignette much for portraiture either. You kind of just know yourself, whether or not it works for any one image. Maybe send a copy of it to your sis and see if she likes it Vs a non vignette version?

Thanks for all the advice again.

Much appreciated.
