Just post processing my first wedding shoot and wondering what ratio is the norm allowing prints to be easily made ?

I personally like 3:2 but maybe this isn't the norm ?

I've agreed to let the couple to take ownership of the pics as it's my first shoot so they can sort their own prints out once i've sorted and pp'd the better results.

TIA,
Mike.

Choose the print size i.e 7x5 or 8x10 and crop to that.

Your couple will love you because it will make their life easy, standard print sizes!

HI Mike

3:2 is that 12x8 and 9x6 (in inches). If so thats what we do. The digital format (full frame) works perfectly with this size. There are a lot of horrible companies out there who do not stock frames for these sizes so we force ourselves to do so.

Why should other frame sellers make money off our work :naughty::naughty:

Hey
we crop everything to 8x10 fr presentation, we don't frame too tight. Then if customers order 5x7 etc we can accommodate without compromising the final image too much (no chopping off heads/toes etc!!)
hope this helps

I think it depends on how you sell the images, in your case I'd do as Ali suggested and crop to a a "standard" print size such as 7x5.

However, one approach I've known to be used when images are sold individually afterwards is to frame your own images and crop to odd sizes. Apparently this can really work well and help maximise profit.
