I have recently read loads of reviews on the Tokina 19-35mm lens and was impressed by the amazing reviews it received.

I decided to buy it, attatched it to my Sony A700 and started shooting during a wedding.

I generally choose prime lenses during the posed group photographs, but giving the lens a chance, decided to try it out to see how good it really was...

I must say I am VERY impressed with this lens. For the price, the sharpness of the images is amazing. So much so, the Tokina now never leaves the A700 and is now attatched for life!

Anyone wanting a VERY good lens on a budget (Hell not even a budget - I'm not!), just a good lens, should be very impressed with this beauty from Tokina. You can buy them on ebay for around £100 and in my opinion, you can't go wrong!!!

As a wedding photographer this lens would be a brilliant lens as back-up or to attatch to one of your cameras. As time passes, these lenses will become harder to find as Tokina no longer makes them. Legendary lenses come about once in a while and I think this may just be one of them.

I think that this lens was badged up by several makers and I've seen good shots and read good reports on other sites and I've also read a few people slagging the lens off, but they probably haven't tried it and just think it's poor because of the name on the lens and the cheap cost.

I looked for one a while ago but I kept losing the auctions and ended up getting a Canon 20-35mm instead.

I'm glad you are happy with it and I hope that others will consider this bargain lens.

dont have much to say about the lens, havent come across one myself.

However you do know that you won't get any page ranking points for any clicks you get to your website from here. ;)

I had the Cosina version of this lens and like a fool when I bought my 350D I kept the kit lens and sold the 19-35,like you I had used it for weddings and was a little cracker in fact if I see one at the right price I would happily get one again

Had one of these on my old Pentak K100 and it was a cracking little lens for the price hence its "Plastic Fantastic" label
Bit of a limited range though on a crop sensor and needed a little more range especially at the distant end

Going totally off-topic here, doesn't seem to be a nofollow tag on his link actually?

just googled it, looks lovely, but it's variable aperture :(

Isn't the 19-35 also badged up as a Pentax? Seen these cheap but have never thought twice about them.... interesting :)
