I was just on EdinburghGary's thread and i thought to myself "oh *** when is that wedding I've got to do?" I went and asked my mum to look on the calender and it next weekend :eek:

What would really make me happy is if we left their that night and someone phoned me and asked me if i would do their wedding, i would probably split my checks smiling :) But i am very doubtful that would happen :)

A little bit of me is happy, and the other bit of me is thinking "Oh oh, what am i going to do, what am i going to do. ARGGH" but i must not let that take me over.

Anyone got any tips for me? Would be much appreciated :)

stay calm and sober
prepare a list of the shots you want (including what the B/G have especially requested)
enlist the best man to round up the guests
don't be afraid to marshall them
done with humour it can really lighten the mood and give you great shots!

Do your best to be calm and relaxed, and this will reflect in in your subjects and make them feel at ease, as has been mentioned get help from the best man who will know most of the guests so will be able to round them up easier, and have a list this is very important, try to take your time and keep a steady flow of photos going, whatever you do don't panic and rush them, i did my first wedding in feb, and really enjoyed it despite the fact of it being quite daunting, take a look at my photos in the "in depth critque section" although they are not technically great (i did make a few mistakes) all the subjects are at ease and smiling away happily, best of luck and be sure to post some of your results :thumbs:
