My first post and a relatively new tog to weddings!

My dilemma is, when shooting the group shots at weddings, what is the standard protocol for the traditional groups in terms of you have the bride and groom but who stands to the left of the bride and who stands nxt to the groom and so on?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks :)

I don't know if there is a standard protocol. Assumming you are talking parents etc the B&G in the middle with the respective parents on the appropriate side of their offspring. However switching that can also be legitimate to sort of emphasise the joining of the families. Add the best man and bridesmaids to the apropriate sides along with siblings as required.

I used to have the B&G in the middle, Best man next to the groom and chief B/maid next to the bride. Parents at the respective ends with gentlemen on the outside.

Never had any complaints.

shoot what looks good, no etiquette worth a dam unless you have very picky clients (who I would send to someone else as I make a point to informalise my groups as much as pos)
