Hi I'm getting married in a couple of weeks and we've decided we'd like to put favours on the tables at the reception. We've sorted the adults with some truffles but we've decided we'd like to get the kids something different that will also keep them occupied. For the younger kids we've got some of them colouring books and crayons and some toy cars. This leaves two girls aged 8 and 9 and two brothers aged 7 and 10. We'd like to get the two boys something similar and the two girls something similar as they'll be sitting on the same tables.

Has anyone got any ideas what they might like? We'd prefer to spend about £5 each as this is what we've spent on the other kids but could go higher if needed.

Of course we could ask their parents but ideally want it to be a surprise for them as well.

Sleeping tablets? Kids at weddings get on my nerves, well not just weddings I guess :)

Haha yeah I bet. How about one of the little remote control car things? Or something that flys like a ufo type thing

Oh and for girls those loom bands seem to be all the rage at the moment

Disposable cameras? I'm not sure if you'd class them as favours but giving the kids cameras can yield some very interesting wedding photos.

Thanks, looms bands sound like they might be good option for the girls. Not sure about arming the boys with remote control missiles in the middle of a reception, although I'm sure they'd love them.... I would

Did wonder about cameras but not sure a disposable would keep them occupied for very long.

How about a small mechano box thing
I'll look at mechano, did look at Technic Lego as I used to love it when I was little but the smaller boxes looked really small and basic. The next size up looked quite good but they were about £17 each.

Ask their parents.

lego?

You get cheap lego kits in small bags. That would keep them busy.
Or just give them free range at the sweet stall

A bottle of Sunny Pee (or is it D?), a handful of E number sweeties and a room or building far away for them and their parents...

for the older child at our wedding, we got him a pack of Top Trumps "Supercars" which were a real hit.
