Hi Guys,

I am having a WEC binge this year and heading to all events within a driveable distance.

Having done Silverstone 5 times and Le-mans 10 times I am pretty confident there however this year I am also off to SPA!

Has any one got any advice around SPA on where to shoot from? Also wondering if anyone has some advice about getting around the track etc and what goes on at the track?

Thanks

Jon

the good thing about 1000kms is you've got time to walk the whole track.
use the green path on this map. start on the start line and walk the opposite way around the circuit. Not that easy to get close to it, but you get some good high up vantage points.
if you do have time to do a bit of the inside, cross under the circuit between

HI Garry, Thanks for that.

Whats the disabled access like and the terrain like?

I am going with a friend who isn't that stable on his feet but copes fine with Le-mans and all of the UK big tracks.

actually not as bad as you'd think. most of (if not all) of the green path is tarmac. Unlike most other circuits. The walk up (or down) Eau Rouge is very very steep though, and also from the bus stop to blanchimont is quite steep but nothing like Eau Rouge / Raidillon. If he's better going down hill than up, then thats another good reason to to the circuit in the opposite direction to the cars.

there are also wheelchair stands in front of the grandstands on the straight that leads from la source to Eau Rouge.

That's Great to hear. Tarmac is deffo a luxury!

Have you been to the actual event yourself? What's the crowd like. are they the Leary lot like Le-mans or the more dedicated fans like Silverstone?

Is there anything in your opinion that shouldn't be missed or essential viewing?

Any ideas what the Paddock access is like? I remember Silverstone it was fully open

last went in 2010 if i remember correctly.. No WEC events are anything like Le Mans.. crowd will be much much smaller, and even in the country with the best beer in the world, they wont be leary.

i cant remember what paddock access is like, but essential viewing is Eau Rouge / Raidillon.. As simple as that :)

Fab Thanks Gary wonderful info. Cant wait to go now. We are going with a Dutch lad we met at lemans and have been firm friends for a while now and managed to rent a house for 60 euros each right by the track for the few nights were there. Booked it as soon as the Dates changed so we got a bargain.
