not sure if this is the off topic but what would people recommend for beginners web sites.
l've got one at www.davebrown.fotopic.net this is a relatively easy site for me to use and update but how easy is it to create a website for a beginner from scratch.
l intend to go to a lot of race meetings this year so a lot of space will be needed on the site. Time is another factor or lack of, so is it best to just stick to what l've got and keep adding space:)
Comments greatly appreciated

I reckon if you can use programmes like powerpoint you can make a website. I did and know nothing about HTML at all. I use Namo WebEditor4 which I get free with a magazine and whilst it's basic it does everything I want it to. For gallery software you can't beat JAlbum in my opinion. Another bit of freeware with a simple to use interface and a support forum which is quite helpful too.

For a beginner if you want to take away all the hassle of code and scripts etc there no better then PHOTIUM I used them to create a website for my local Camera Club and the results are quick and look great. Support is second to none also, always gt a quick reply to any query.
With a months free trial it gives you chance to see how things work or if you like it without paying anything.

It's not as difficult as you might think. I used dreamweaver for both of mine, purists will probably throw their hands up in horror but they're working, look reasonable, not great, but they do what I need. Even integrating a gallery wasn't really that much of a problem.

Nothing wrong with Dreamweaver, I've been developing commercial websites in it for years. I only use the code layout though, the design layout is pants.

I know that everyone has their preferences to which programmes and services to use when building their website, but I use yahoo.com service and their free site builder and there is no need for HTML, it is so easy and I can change the style of the site whenever I feel like it and for the most part of it I build my pages in photoshop. However I do have macromedia studio 8 and I am told that you can build websites in that, but the programmes and functions are beyond me.

love
MJ

I don't normally get time to look through people's sites but I'm glad I had a look at yours, I'm not sure how to describe it but quaint seems to sum it up. Love the adopted bears :D
