Anyone on here been affected?

Apparently there has been a 'data center crash' from this Saturday night to Tuesday ....at least thats what I was informed it could be called. Some sort of central data hub that deals with dns pointing and alike.

About nine thousand sites where affected, all down for two-three days ...two of mine down for all three days, This Sunday morning last through to Tuesday evening.
Little effect financially for me, although google will have noticed :( and if I'd been promoting my photos this week, I'd have been more than peeved.

I'm guessing theres a chance someone on here may have been affected too?

Can anyone with the savvy care to explain what happened? can steps be taken to prevent this happening again...

They need a good ticking off from that submarine officer.

But if it was hosted here in the UK we would have had no screaming just a quiet fix.

You have GOT to be joking!

If it's anything like the experience I've had with probably the UK's biggest backbone provider it'll be more like "Yeah, we know it's down.... we'll get round to it!"

I've had many a 3am phone call that has seen me make that XO look like a girl guide!

Service for such things in general in the UK is sh**e
