I have looked at a large number of Photography websites and was wondering if it would matter if I bult mine in Webplus X6 which I am sure this is flash but seems easer then Wordpress to change how I want the website to look.
But if you say no use Wordpress I will start again and do some learning and use wordpress. Webplus x6 does say its for mobiles and ipads to.
Does it matter what I use or is there benefits using one over the other.

Thankyou for all advice.

I'd never heard of Webplus, but it appears to be the latest version of Serif's web design software.

What's the website for?
How much design experience do you have?

Hi Phil
Thanks for the reply, I have just finished my HND Photography and done a year as a 2nd photographer for a local wedding photographer. So thought it was about time I tried to earn some money of my own from my photography. I dont know much about websites I made one years ago from publisher and bought some space with TSO host.
I have been watching a few videos on Wordpress, Html & css and how to change page colours and fonts, but got further with Webplus X6 but I am sure I heard the I should not use flash ? and go for Wordpress.

With that level of knowledge, don't try to build your own website. To be blunt, it'll be crap!

How would you answer a potential customer who suggested their cousin could knock out a set of wedding images with a P&S. It's about the same level.

If you want to sell direct from the site and you want a one stop solution, either zenfolio or Wordpress with photocrati.
If selling from the site isn't do important, get a pro photo blog site to run in Wordpress.

Within a couple of hours you can have a beautiful, fully functioning website up and running for less than the cost of some decent HTML software.

If you're worrying about font styles and colours now how will you cope with bulk image uploads, one click updating and ensuring all thats done with killer SEO?
Because once your site is up, they'll be your priorities.

Thanks Phil properly the best answer I could get really, I was just trying to do it on the cheap, with the amount I have paid out on equipement and student loan over the last 2 years, I guess my website is not the best place to cut corners, if it looks poo I dare say the client will think the same and move on to the next site.

Good move.
It could even be worse than that though. If it doesn't score well potential clients will never find you.

SEO isn't the be all and end all but it's good to get a slice of the search market.
