I have updated my website, i think i have got it just how i like it. but would like to know what you all think :shrug:

I like it, very straight forward and clean, nice colour scheme and relatively fast.

The header graphic is 250kb in size though. You should be able to get it down to around 70-80kb. It'll help with the initial load time.

Couple of things I don't like,
the site seems to be using frames, this means that people can't bookmark anything other than you home page. I think the frames might be down to the fact that you have domain masking on to hide your sites true address which is http://web.me.com/chris.grieve/grievephotography/ You'll need to come up with a proper solution to that. Like getting some web hosting and setting the DNS settings for your domain properly.

You're using images for your navigation items. The font looks pretty standard so why not use text?

At the moment i am using iweb and hosting with .mac (now .me)
so once its up for renewal i will probably look into changing web hosting.

I will look into the domain masking.. thanks.

and about the font... well when i was building this i tried viewing it on Internet Explorer the text kept defaulting to a standard font and since changing it, it has worked fine, but thanks again i will look into that, maybe i had just done something wrong.

I had forgot to mention i was using iWeb in my opening post, it does a good job but is very limited in some aspects.

It's nice and simple, which is a good thing, but sdespite that it seemed to take ages to load (made IE fall over the first time I opened it too).
 
theres an issue with the about me some overlap of text, I don'tlike the Quicktime bit either (personal pref as well), but does look very clean
 
Thanks for the comments, i noticed the text on the About Me page this morning, but thats easily sorted.
thanks for the views on the quicktime slideshow, there are a couple other options i can try but i dont really know enough to get it looking right, but i will look into it.

i am also going to reduce the file size of the header and also the slideshow as im sure i can get that down a bit.

I have changed a few things, managed to sort out the about me page,
also i viewed my website on my mums laptop and the slideshow took a while to load and then it also popped up with a little box asking if you wanted to download the slideshow (which i didnt like)
so i have now removed the slideshow just now, until i can get it to load quicker.
it seems to load alot quicker now.

As said before - nice & clean. I'd agree with losing the frames.

I think the header image is too big - takes up too much screen plus the frames on the photos seem very pixilated.

I assume the white polaroid style frames round the images at the top. They looked a bit jaggy on my works laptop earlier and possibly even worse on my Macbook.
 
I like it - nice and clean. Very professional.

One thing I would think would really make it stand out more would be to make the images on the top more dynamic. What I mean is, possibly have them change occasionally (randomly from your portfolio) Would be a nice feature IMO
 
Nice and simple layout which is good. The thing that bothers me is the whole site seems to reload on every page view. So rather than the content in the page changing when I browse various sections, the whole page reloads, first going white for a split second, before the link I clicked on then loads.

Also, the navigation seems to be lower when the page first loads but then jumps in to position.
