Hello.

I am currently expanding my website in order to help beginners understand some of the basic terms used in photography. I am by far no master at photography but I do really enjoy it and watch a lot of videos on it :)

Any body care to check out the "Jargon" section and give me any points?

Once I have done a few more pages I will link them together a little more. For example on the shutter speed page when I start to say about aperture I will link the word aperture to my aperture page. :)

Hope you like,

Thanks

As no-one else has chimed in, I have a couple of issues with the article. The first one being that you actually talk more about aperture than shutter speed. The description ought to say why you would choose longer or shorter shutter speeds, rather than discussing the other 2/3 of the triangle. I'd mention the safe shutter speeds as a rule of thumb, freezing action, panning, milky water etc. as they're all image characteristics controlled by shutter speed. And image characteristics are the important bit.

But worse, "Shutter speed is how fast the shutter opens and closes with in the camera body" is factually incorrect, it's the length of time the shutter is open, or more precisely that the sensor is exposed. The shutter moves at the same speed, no matter what the 'shutter speed'.

Hope I've helped.

Thank you. Will work on those today and add a few more pages. Main aim is to have around 10 pages and may be add more at a later date.

I want to keep it simple for now as I will probably be working on another site soon.

EDIT: Took a lot out about the ISO and aperture and added more about shutter speeds :)
