Morning all

:help: Would anyone be kind enough to take a look at my website and give some thoughts on the images, wording, layout etc? I would really appreciate some advice on content from people more experienced than I am or just your thoughts if you were a customer viewing the site. The site is provided by Photium so there are limitations to what I can do layout wise but I'm open to any suggestions on how other aspects of the site can be improved, particularly the wording.

Also, does anyone know of any free software that can be used to remove lyrics from songs leaving just the backing music to use in slideshows?

Thanks

I like the site; loads quickly and some great shots there.

It's easy to navigate and get back to where I started.

The only thing I'd say about the front page is that it is too busy; great opening shots but there is a lot of info that need not be there.

HTH.

The front page is way to big to work you see half the photo and have to start scrolling around for an example of what I mean have a look at http://chrisbevanphotography.co.uk

See how the pic shows in a standard size screen

If I may, my immediate comments would be as follows:

+ves
- some good images, and a nice clean layout overall
- nice use of an auto-rotating gallery
- b&w close up images look fantastic (though some, like the river/cottage look rather soft)

- your logo looks like an afterthought. Very simple, to the point of looking lazy (sorry). The immediate thing that sprang to mind what why don't you have a space between Duffy and Photography?
- a number of your photos on the lead page are cropped rather heavily, sometimes through hands, other times through heads
- what is Qype? Seems totally pointless
- why tell people your pagerank?
- on your about page don't tell people you've only just started
- generally seems to be a lot of text on the site for something that is supposed to be about imagery

Hope you see this all as constructive!

Finally go around to making a few adjustments to the site (updated the logo, made less 'wordy', removed ratings etc).
Still need to get around to adjusting the crop on some of the home page photo's but will get to that tonight.

Any other C&C/advice on the site would be gratefully received.

I'd say centre the buttons rather than having them justified left also think about having them the same colour as background rather than the grey

don't add the blog tag until you have some blog posts to add.

and although its not technically website related (so ignore me if you dont want this kind of C&C) but IMO your prices are a tad on the low side.

Change the header, if you can use Adobe Illustrator for a simple text editing or get freelancer for quick 3D text using adobe illustrator, that would definetely improve the visual appearance of the first page.
