Website review

Love the layout of the site.

A right mixture of content on there.

As a helpful point I'd say put a contact us button on the homepage. (I know you can navigate to it through the image pages, but on the homepage would make more sense).

It also doesn't give me any information about you?

Potential clients might ask is the site a showcase of your work, or is it advertising your services? If so what photographic services do you provide? Ignore this if it is an online portfolio.
 
ACW - both points are known... its a wordpress themed website so there are those limitations. I am working on a contact me page / services offered. But adding it in seems to throw off the rest of the pages. But thanks.

State it in your OP what you think the negatives are then to save people commenting on things you already know!

Wasn't knocking the site though, it really is quite good. Just didn't want to post a pointless "Yes it's great." comment.
 
I like the way the images move on the main thing but I'd like them to look better 'shrunk' if you know what I mean - the left one is just a pictures of some guys beak till you hover over it and the 2nd is just trees. That being said I do like it.

Also under the banner were it says sport//music//news I though they would be links and tried to click them! It seems to load pretty fast which is good going for this time of day, always a bonus.
 
Stevie, thanks. Thats part of the theme. So when you hover over the hidden images it expands. But I know what you mean. All I want to make sure it flows okay for people.

you subtitle says sport - your menu says sports - also in a different order SMN > NMS...also champ final - is that not sport..?

I think your simplifying the pictures...

Obviously its the stadium, Then its battersea power station, its a live concert shot, and the Messi kissing the badge on his shirt.

I am aware of the order issue and that is on my lists of fixes.
 
So I corrected the bottom menu to reflect the top subtitle, and there is a contact button in the gallery section.

There is a drawback with this wordpress theme, and that is if you have different menu buttons at the bottom, its tougher to navigate. So I have to keep them inline with my galleries in order for people to get back and forth.
 
The pro version. Its the theme really, lots of stuff you want to do and you have to find a workaround to do it. Such as order of the galleries. I'd have to go back in and reupload in the right order instead of just being able to move them around.

Really, we use Pro photo and find it great. We did buy and use a theme but like you we found it hard to edit so we've used oe of the more std themes and *******ized it too our needs!

At times it can be hard to get to Grips with it (Matts done it really) but the customer service is top drawer and the possibilities are really good.

Nice site. I'd be inclined to ditch the words under your website name and put your phone number there. Those aren't links but look like they are.

And, Stevie, why do you need an 'enter' page? Much better to go straight to your blog. Its not as if there is adult content. Saw this explanation:

"By visiting your site they've already agreed to enter, why do they have to do it again? It'd be like opening the door to a store only to find another door that says, "haha, just kidding. Open this door to enter for reals this time."

Welll...... The quick explanation was that there is 3 of us involved in this and one was particularly nervous about using a blog based site as opposed to a traditional site and he insisted on this enter. Its a compromise but in general the feedback on the splash page is negative so we'll most likely ditch it!

Other than that (not intending to hijack!) I fairly happy with how the site is taking shape!
 
The header is my logo, so it is what is on my business card. This is more of a portfolio website than selling my business. But I did add an about me and contact page inside the gallery section.
 
To be honest if you are just using the site as a portfolio for press and sports work, I'd be more inclined to set up your Photoshelter account properly and point your domain at that.

All of the IPTC/Captioning is visible and they (Photoshelter) are pretty much the industry standard. The image rendition is much better as well.
