About 6 months a go i took my old website down and am going to rebuild from scratch the reasons for this are down to being limited with ecommerce and i am useless with HTML and as i slowly edited it, this caused the quality to degrade till the point it look liked a school kid made it on frontpage.

The two i am looking at are TheImageFile (14.99 a month package which is only £10 a month with loxely discount code) and zenfolio (£100 year package).

so price wise we are talking £120 vs £100 no biggie first question is are there any hidden extras with these that will cost?

does anyone use these i know people do and could let me browse there websites and have a look?

anyone been limited by these packages above?

my old website was used as a portfolio and like most the front of there business, i need the new one to do the same but would like to add eccomerce , to the gallery etc plus actually be able to edit it i believe the above choices can do this unless im mistaken, proffessional image is important and this is where my previous lacked i have good knowledge but websites and html is not one of them.

and if anyone else could shed some light onto these options and whether im in the right areas i would appreciate.

obviously if anyone has first hand knowledge of these web builder sites that would be the most helpful

thanks in advance

Know nothing about the imagefile site, but I, along with many others on here use Zenfolio.
You can set up price lists( all customisable) to whichever gallery you like. They then take a percentage of your profit on sales.
For me, it represents an easy, all in one package that does exactly what I need. Not sure, but I think for £100 you are not on the top package, so you may pay for any self fulfilled products you sell via the site. I've not found any hidden costs yet.
If you want a discount code, just drop me a pm.

I also use Zenfolio - mainly because its so easy to use. I'm on the top package because I can self fulfill with no percentage but the £100 package has almost all the same features. What I like about it - very easy to manage folders, password protected client galleries, shopping cart & blog.

Our site also zenfolio, bought before UK pricing so we pay 100usd, not 100gbp.
A bit limited for SEO but otherwise great.

Zenfolio for me. it can be a little limited in it's layout customisation options but if you work with it rather than fight it you can get a decent looking site from it.

I wouldn't mind a zenfolio code if anyone has one? Currently using the trial version but pretty sure I will be upgrading before long :-)

I've just swapped over to Zenfolio in the last 2/3 weeks, having previously been with Clikpic. I'm really pleased with it, definitely displays photographs at their best with plenty of options

If you haven't found one yet then my discount code is 2GE-42W-W3Z. I think you get a 10% discount (and I get a reduction in renewal cost)

I've been on zenfolio for 3 years

Generally they provide a good service but I've found 3 cons

1. PhotoBox are relatively expensive compared to other on-line labs and prints don't match my screen calibration although other printers do.

2. Search facilities come up with misleading messages (saying no images found) if the keyword searched for is tagged to the album but search is for photos

3. They're an American company geared to American market services with offers that UK customers cannot benefit from. That said I don't know of any English companies that provide a similar service

My 10% discount code JJE-7K9-BTM
