Hi all,

Not sure if this is the correct section, if not could a mod please move it, ta.

I've just finished the last bits on my new website. It's meant to be a photo-blog-esque site for my military aviation photography to run along side my image gallery site (g0rd.com).

http://www.fast-air.co.uk

Any feedback on content, design, structure, features, font, images etc very welcome! Good or bad.

Cheers all!

Great looking website - very RAF 'esque! Like the grey tones etc.

One point - on one of the sections you give out an aircrafts location and callsign - is that not a bit dodge?

Just a thought!

Thanks for the feedback.

The callsign and location was for the Vulcan which is a civvy aircraft now. All the information on the site is all in the public domain. Any sensitive information (for example Harriers leaving for Op HERRICK) would be delayed until after they had arrived.

Ahhh fair enough! I really like seeing how toggers mix their passion for photography with another interest! I am v impressed with the take off shots... I take it it is like shooting a bird - fast lens?

Thats why this hobby is soooooo flipping expensive!

I've not really tried bird photography so I'm not sure how it compares (although there is a cross over between the two fields) but I would expect it to be closer to motorsport, lots of smooth panning. With take offs and landing you generally know where they will be and what they are going to do.

In the air, I would expect it is closer to bird photography as you can't be sure what they are going to do so need to juggle shutter speed, composure, exposure and focus.

For me, photography is about capturing a moment or telling a story. I'm not big on taking photos for artistic reasons, although once in a while I will do it to take myself out my comfort zone.

I like the very simple layout, the colours and the informative index style, it works well for the limited amount of sections you have atmo but I'm not sure how it will look in a few weeks/months when you have added lots more content. You can get away with making the 'list' of subjects a lot longer yet but at some point you're going to have to create a second index page.

Yeah, I'm already trying to figure out what to do when my front page is feeling 'full'. I want to avoid a menu system to keep the clean / simple layout.

I don't want to drop the items off some may go with an archive page with 'old' content.
