Yes
Have spent the last couple of days working on website and gallery. Never done any web design or anything before so it's been something of a learning curve!

Would love to get any feedback you might have. I'm aware the 'About' page is currently blank, can't quite arsed writing something naff about myself yet .

Also, just in case MK pops in I apologise in advance for using the same gallery software!

www.twblack.com is the site :)

Nice job Tom. Landscape button was working OK for me.

I never have a problem with flash sites however many people say don't use them as not all browsers are compatible. I am not so sure that this comment is as relevant as it was now that IE actually works as it should have done a lot earlier.

looks nice and the micrography section is something else  Personally I'm not a fan of flash galleries but each to their own :)

Hiya. I had no problem with the any aspects of the site. It's very good and the photos are certainly excellent.

I been using Picasaweb ( www.picasaweb.google.com/bjardrey ) for yonks and I've been toying with getting a proper site of my own. What is the software you've used?

Very impressive and professional. Love the type used and the landscape and Wildlife galleries are superb (I havent had the time to go through them all) I particularly like the fact that your shots cover a large geographical area of the uk (Cornwall to the Peak District). Your time has been well spent.

Nice a simple and a pleasure to look around. I like your microphotography shots.

I agree, his time has been very well spent. Excellent photos they certainly be.

Thanks all. Badger, I put it all together using Dreamweaver, the gallery software was $19.99 from monoslideshow.
You've inspired me to get myself sorted. I've been meaning to get it sorted for ages but I've become a bit lazy and stuck to Picasaweb and ofcourse once I had a few hundred photos on that it became more difficult to start a new one.

One problem is that I've started to use my Picasa like a family album and have loaded lots of snap shots on to it. Which is a good thing in most ways but I'd like something which is a bit more of a showcase I suppose.

very nice indeed

everything works nicely and looks really neat.

Nice crisp clean design, works really well, great shots,....nowt wrong with that lot.

Handsome site Tom.

I suggest you move all your css stuff off the .html pages, cut and paste it onto a new blank page in Dreamweaver, called it/save as ...( style.css ) ...and save into the same folder as your website.

Then stick this code where it used to be on all your pages...

HTML:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href=".. /style.css" />
(.. / << being your folders/location address??? )

Done .
..it helps will Google, and makes your pages more compliant against new standards etc.

Thanks for that FB, will do when I come to finish it off.

Cheers stripey.. have been thinking about the red-on-black, I love it as a colour scheme but agree it might be slightly hard to read. Might just boost everything red to make it slightly brighter. Interesting that you see it as purple and too dark, I see it as red and perfectly fine to read but that's exactly why I asked for feedback!

Hello, here are my comments, take what you will:

Positives
- Nice use of lighter gray into darker gray
- The hint of red particularly in the text adds a nice lift of colour to the site
- Good use of HTML form to provide easy feedback

Possible improvements
- The slug on the home page had me reaching for a new website almost immediately
- You have 3 different fonts used on the site, the navigation and banner font is hard to read and confusing but is an 'arty' font. You use Times New Roman on the main pages which is not the best font to use on a website, stick with Arial/Verdana/Tahoma so people don't get headaches. In your Flash gallery you use a Verdana font which is fine but the text telling me what each gallery is about is too small
- Your HTML form, while a good principle, needs tidying up. Shrink the text entry boxes and give it a theme inline with the rest of the site

Hope this helps :)

Tom
