Website done , thoughts?

Smart.

Would be nicer on a proper web server without the ads, but would obviously cost (although only 6.99 for the domain, and 40 or so for the hosting).

It's not bad for a freebie! Though your little write up needs a bit of attention with regards to Grammar and spelling. I'm not hot at either but simple things like capitalising letters ... or not, stands out a mile IMO. ;)

Thanks all!

My Spelling and Grammar have never been one of my hot points , bad schooling :(

Id agree with fixing the little bit about yourself, is this site for possible clients? I would drop the info on what equipment you use also.

But remember, with it being on the WWW, there is a chance a potential client could see the site ;)

I'm sure if you ask the nice folk of TP, someone can have a quick run through your write up and make a few correction for you, if you're not confident enough to do it yourself :)

That'd be great!

love the pics

would maybe say that they need names / titles rather than the file numbers, think this woud make it more personal aswell as letting people know what they are looking at ?

great images though

Nice website layout, easy to navigate.
Light-green-on-light-grey doesn't work very well for the selected tab.
The church photos are superb.
The flowers and wildlife are less strong and I can't see why you've put them on the next tab; towards the back would be better perhaps. Put your best work at the front.

But the spelling and grammar are, frankly, shocking. I gave up counting at 25 mistakes on the first page. Here's a free translation.

My name is Neil G. I'm 29 and I live near Canterbury in Kent, south east England. I have been interested in photography since I was a teenager. My main interests are historic buildings, landscapes and weather photography. My photos from this year's and last year's thunderstorms have appeared on South East Today.

I use a Canon EOS 400D. I have two lenses, a Canon 18-55mm and a Sigma 100-300mm, but I will be acquiring a wider lens later this year. When I'm not photographing landscapes or buildings I lead a team of paranormal investigators to many historical areas in the UK.

There's also a typo on your links page: you've spelt "kentparanormalhunters" wrongly.

Go to www.one.com

they have .co.uk domains for 9.00 for a year and u get 3000mb of space.
i just renewed my website and it cost £15 for the year. I have had a lot of business throu it and I get up to 10 email address via it.

Well worth the money

Mike

As people have said you can get web hosting at a low cost but the examples given wont include a site builder so Neil would have to rebuild the site.

If its only for friends and family, i'm sure thats' fine to leave it on an ad-supported server, after all its the photos that matter.

Or, if it's just Friends and family, you could simply stick to Flickr or similar.

<Disclaimer - i'm a web designer and provide hosting>

one.com have a free website build.

granted its not the best in the world but better than nothing

Mike

Neil,

This is going to sound harsh, and I expect to get flamed for it, but here goes...

The content, grammar and presentation of the introduction was quite frankly bloody awful and I couldn't be bothered going any further....despite the fact that your photographs are probably very good.

Sorry.

Bob
