Hi there

I already have a website but for some reason it can't be googled, probably something I've done but don't have the know how to fix it. However was thinking of getting it revamped anyway and wondered if anyone could recommend a good website designer that's not going to break the bank? Quotes I've had so far range from 3 to 6 grand, i was hoping someone would be able to do what I need more for a few hundred. Perhaps that's wishful thinking. Anyway, any advice could be appreciated.

What is your website and what do you want it to do?

What exactly needs doing, and what is the website address..

If several designers are pitching between 3 and 6K then it would suggest a reasonable amount of work needs doing

Google indexes it pages using keywords in the content.
It also likes semantic HTML code (google this for explanation)

If you can PM me the name of your site, I can take a look at the content

3k seems a bit steep if its just a few pages but if its complicated with lots of pages then thats about right

exactly... if you've got lots of pages or programming, then it could cost a few thousands. No one couldn't really comment on the price without more concrete information.

Getting you into Google shouldn't be an issue, though climbing up the results may take some time!
Now we're all curious to get the address of your site to finally give you more concrete advice. :)

Cheers,
Dominique

There are several issues here

1. getting the site designed
2. getting the site optimised and promoted on Google (and other search engines)

There are elements of design that will help SEO, but in the main you must optimise for humans AND search engines.... No points in lots of visitors if they all leave. In other words you will need to look at the sites code, conversion, design, functionality

In terms of the SEO, optimisation results will depend on both how well your site is optimised, and what market you are in and what competition you have. SEO has 2 main elements - on page and off page. Good on page SEO will need little attention once done, however the off page SEO may need fairly constant attention and nurturing

So you may be looking for a designer who understands on page SEO, and then you may need to retain them (or another SEO professional) to ensure your search engine performance is maintained
