I'm just off on the dangerous journey of building a website.
I know what I want the main pages to feature, but my main question is this:
Can animated photo galleries be made IN dreamweaver? Or do they have to be made outside and imported in?

Things like this:

Cherryrig's website

I can see I'm going to have a hard time making this website, but its all part of the learning process :p

That won't have been done alone in Dreamweaver without a lot of coding knowledge - theres no standard built on function for that. If you need any help with your website feel free to give me a shout - I'm a freelance designer and don't mind giving ya a few pointers if you need them :)

If its Adobe you want then maybe Lightroom could be the answer. There's also plenty of free templates available on the net.

foodpoison thats the same way I built my sites, I used dreamweaver but only for code highlighting.

What is being used on that website is called a Lightbox, there are a few available but here is the best one: http://www.lokeshdhakar.com/projects/lightbox2/

You need some coding knowledge however.

Dreamweavers a good all round editor I've found, even the early versions are full of features, easily good enough for todays complaint web page construction standards. That galley link you put up could be built in any editor, but its sophisticated stuff and all down to the coders skills rather than the software.

If you can buy it as a package Dreamweaver will probably cope well with it being inserted into a page ...its never failed me yet., not much anyway.

Have you downloaded the web developer addon for your browser yet?,very useful tool for looking at others code and design.

If your going to do it yourself I'd suggest you get to grips with CSS style sheets and construct fully complaint pages that can be read by all and any web accessible gadget.
