Currently some one is trying to hack into my Wirdpress based site every minute and from a different ip each time as they get licked out after 4 failed attempts. I'm just wondering if I should be concerned or just let
it continue and hope they don't get in, Spose there's not much else I can do, especially as I'm out shooting all today.

I think I can say yes he has, mainly because I think it was Mark that linked to an admin account name changer plugin in another thread a few weeks ago. Certainly if it wasn't mark, he did say his was changed from the default admin.

I was getting something similar on one website a few weeks back, they gave up after about 12 hours, but tried various user names, such as the domain name and abbreviations of it too, so you can see their thinking.

Using your first name or surname as an admin account is a great way to get hacked as well! :)

If it's being hacked, it'll be for setting up a phishing scam, they'll set up a site within your site, probably a fake bank account login page. If they get in (sounds like they won't), just keep an eye out for any pages you didn't create.

Is it possible the change the /wp-admin/ directory name to something else? That'd screw them up, because they can't index your site and as such wouldn't be able to find the admin page.

I'm assuming it's not simply search engine bots which have somehow found the admin directory?
