Website Banner question

Have an image (my banner) that when viewed in Elements 10 looks quite sharp. However when I upload it to my website it appears to be unsharp. I have tried saving the image both in a TIFF and JPEG.

My question then, should I save my image (banner) at a certain size to retain the quality, and if so what size should i ser the canvas to? I have searched the web but so far have not come up with an answer.

Any.pointers gratefully received.

Should be saved at the size the banner is, and make sure you're not zoomed into your website (press CTRL+0 to make the page original size).

Also check the page isn't resizing the banner itself (check the img tag for width & height parameters )

Your website has the correct image dimensions and isn't stretching it?

Whats your site and what's the dimensions youre saving as?

Many thanks for that I will give it a go. I wasn't sure if the saved images was somehow compressed and when appeared on the web page became a little pixilated'
