How do i set up a my own photography website? I am not a professional or a PC techno wiz, but just take portraights & landscapes for friends & family, so Im not looking for anything fancy or expensive; just looking for an easy to use site of my own (ie not Flickr) which looks reasonable whare I can point people to. any Ideas welcome thanks?

Flikr is a good start for sharing your pictures.

As for building your own you could try a template driven package from 1and1.co.uk.

Do you have a mac? iWeb is a very quick and easy route to having your own website.

If you have a larger budget around £200 then you could look at bludomain who supply flash templates and hosting to build an online gallery - they look superb.

No i dont have a mac, will have a look at 1and1.co.uk thanks. Obviously I appreciate I will have to pay for a site but wasnt looking to spend a massive amount for a top pro site.

also do look at weebly.com

If you just want a small site to play with and test the water while spending either nothing or as little as possible you could try 000webhost.com

Then install wordpress and some software gallery, pick a theme you like, even customise it a little and off you go.

Another member on here is having trouble with their site so I set up a test site for them as above. the thread is here:

You can have a free name from them but it would be something like Lensmarc.17set.com, or you can buy a domain yourself (£7 for 2 years) and use that.

EDIT: and flash sites might look great for PC users, but a lot of people hate the loading times and they also don't work on mobile phones (well, I think 1 phone has flash support but that's it!)
