Morning all...

I currently have a Wordpress site - www.danmonaghan.co.uk
It does what it says on the tin but im looking at a more professional, tidy wedding site as well - maybe as a separate site?

- I need a client gallery area with e-commerce and passwords which i cant seem to get on my site.
- I've looked at Zenfolio but you have to pay commission with them for sales?

What are my options?? I'd rather not pay out to subscribe to a web site but would if i had to.

I've also just come across slideshowpro which seems like a good add on - is it just a plugin or does it create an extra site to your exisiting one?

I realise its something that asked loads...i've spent ages reading threads but cant seem to come to any conclusions???

cheers Team

Dan

slideshowpro is a rotating gallery, i have used it on my site at carlomullenphotography.co.uk.

for payment options i am using jalbum, small cost for a year something like $30 and can be linked to a paypal account

Wordpress or Joomla with there respective free cart & gallery solutions would be my recommendations.

If your (cap)able you can do the whole lot yourself and be reliant upon no one.

A lot of the professional look can be remedied by editing theme. There is an awful lot of power if you look under the hood of wordpress, but it does require you to tinker with some of the theme functions. The theme is broken down into simple chunks you can edit. Header / footer / page, etc, etc...

I've used http://www.instinct.co.nz/e-commerce/ for a client but the code base is horrific if you need to dig in and edit things.

Gallery area you could do with passworded pages + wordpress's built in media/gallery options. Guess it depends if you need to upload hundreds of images at a time, as that may be a pain uploading with a flash uploader

Have a look at http://q3f.org for a heavily modified wp site.
