Is there a recommended size for when creating a logo? Also when starting a new 'project' in PS should i be setting up the size in pixels or mm. Is there a recommended PPI to set also?

where is the logo going to be used, on the web or for printing?
just seen the title says web logo. dope

ok well 72 ppi and work in pixels, what size is your choice. But maybe be better in Illustrator so size doesnt matter as can be scaled indefinitely.

All I will say is good luck on your journey.... I went through this process myself recently and it hurt my head big time!

What you have to remember is your trying to create a brand that ideally you are going to keep for a long time and for me that was a lot harder than you think.

i have various amounts of websites as i create them and also am the founder of a football club and what i have did for the logo is created a large logo (2000x2000px for example) using fireworks (you can use photoshop with the .psd) and save it as a .gif so i can edit the image when needed.

if i need it smaller...shrink it, change the colour etc.
