1&1 has been a bit of a monkeys tea party just lately, I was trying out the new 'my website editor' when they developed all sorts of tech problems and it went down for about ten days!

While this was going on I found WIX, I'm near to finishing quite a nice site I built from a blank page layout with their HTML5 web editor but looking on their forums, there seem to be a lot of unhappy bunnies so:thinking:...

Now 1&1 is back up and running I find I don't like the template I started using as much and all the others have crap mouse over colours etc that you can't change. It's daft, one of the templates is spot on but the menu buttons lights up an awful bright green colour when clicked open:shrug: bloody horrid.

I've just spent all night blundering about on the net and found a mob called WYSIWYG web builder.com. You can build your site from scratch and I had a play with it and it seems like something I could do after a bit of a learning curve and create my own template. The thing is, although I don't really know what I'm doing with this kind of more advanced builder I feel I will have a bit more control over things and maybe get less stress in the long run.

1&1 host my domains and I have used their old website builder but a tech guy there told me that that's likely to be phased out in favour of the new 'my website' thing so I think it's time to make changes especially with the new technology of mobile devices changing everything.

All I need to do is show high quality colour gallery images of tiles along with a little text, no bells or whistles, just the minimum required to sell online.

Any thoughts or advice most welcome, I looking for the the plot and trying to dodge pitfalls here:).

If I was you Id try Zenfolio. I am very pleased with the galleries, can sell online etc. PM me if you want a discount code.
