Weather warning

Its still blowing quite well here,
but no rain all day, and still very mild.

starting to blow well down at Mudeford, lets wait and see what tomorrow brings.

The heavy rain has now passed and its heading your way.
It is completely calm, only sound is the dripping from the trees.
Spooky after the battering we got an hour ago!

According to this site,
The leading edge is just about to hit us, with the worst of it less than an hour behind.

Edit, just stepped outside and its "drizzling"

That don't look good, heading this way too
As if we haven't had enough today and the wind is getting stronger.
Just seen on the TV we are in the at risk zone too

always used to get a mac-d drivethrough and go sit in the carpark by the quay in this sort of weather :D
.

 still do it occasionally, started to rain well now. Getting some great noises down the chimney.

Keep reports coming please.. I have barely any mobile signal or internet on my phone and just moved house, no heating (I can't fathom the oil fired heating) eek!.. No hot water and no cooker!... Let alone no internet or tv..

I feel like I've gone back in time lol

Aww T, I can tell you locally it's very wet out, I can hear the rain falling :(

Yep same and wind has been picking up the last hour or 2 here

Well if you will live in such a remote, backward county,
what do you expect? :p

Not being funny, but are you sure you have oil in the tank?
(assuming that's the type?)

Nothing much happening in Bournemouth, but it never does.

Can't quote you Chris as it won't post...grrr

Yeah it's oil.. I'm freaked and clueless tbh, if I'm reading it correctly there is some in there, not loads but it's not near the fill line

Ok, but those gauges are not always that accurate,
is it a dial or a clear tube up the front of the tank?
if its a tube, you'll find a "button" at the bottom of the tube,
that needs to be pulled out
To give you a correct reading.

There will also be a tap either on the tank, just a small brass "thumb" tap,
or somewhere near on in the house on the feed.

Make sure this is turned on too.

Its beginning to look like it :D
I'll need get the yacht out though I guess :D

Ok wtf is a thumb tap?? That could very well be my problem... I'm assuming you mean it could be shut off?..I'll have to go outside and hunt in the morning

Guage is a clear tube and I found the "pull to read" button this morning.. And gave a little dance I might add.. Didn't make it work tho :(
Even pulling it out it stayed the same, looks like a little ball bearing in it?

It wasn't a rain dance I trust

Bloody Hell Trace, that's not good, at least it's still quite mild at the moment, do hope you get it sorted soon
Hope you have some oil, that's not cheap is it :(
I was lucky when I moved, phone and internet back on in the new house same day.

Yes it could be turned off its a small tap that looks
Like this

It should be facing that way too, in line with the feed pipe, to be on.

Its got a small ball in it that floats so you can see the top of the oil.
Pulling it out and it stayed the same is good, but you will need to pull it out
on a regular basis, because the level in the gauge won't drop as the level in the tank does ;)
Sometimes they get blocked though,
Can you get a long stick of some kind and "dip" the tank to double check there is oil in there?

Well it looks like the worst of it has gone by me
Unfortunately, there is also a second front, just about to hit the far west coast!

Still passing here, doesn't seem to be raining much, but see what you mean, that one looks bad

Thanks Chris I shall have a look for that in the morning and hope!..

I'm sure I could find something to dip the tank and probably a good idea, I'd say on the gauge it's 1/4 or less so it will need some soon.

Ingrid yep it's pants but you're right thankfully it's been mild, at least it's not snowing!

Found and un packed the slow cooker so that's getting switched on in the morning!.. Decent food at least

And the worst of it looks quite low down too
Should miss me.....
I hope it misses you too!

Trip to the beach if it does hit and roads stay clear, I do love the sea when it's windy :D

That does sound fun...so long as fish and chips on the front, even if sat in the car is on the agenda too

Always Matt, can't beat fish and chips by a stormy sea

Last night it was absolutely persisting down - so hard that the TV in the conservatory was being drowned out (not a problem for me - it was Atcraplis on...) so I went to bed!

After a Chinese curry last night, there's a bit of wind  but not enough to cause any serious damage!

Am I missing something here ???? The storm is due to arrive or at least be at its worst/strongest state between 0300 and 0900 Monday morning, it's no where near the uk yet.....what is everyone on about ???

ATM Bright mostly blue sky's with a bit of wind, expected 15C here in London

Same here ? We have just had a printer message confirming when it will hit sent to our station....I could build a house out of a pack of cards outside at the moment !!!

Fairly clear blue skies here but a few clouds around. Lower clouds moving far faster than the high ones.

Hoping the wind isn't too bad tonight but will be bringing the bird feeders in again just in case!
