I just sent a Canon 350Rebel away to get fixed and it does not have Weather sealed, can Canon weather seal it for me? If not, I will probably be getting a New Camera this Year with Weather sealed,I am waiting for NEW CANON CAMERAS to come out to see, if they have Weather Sealed. The TOP end Canon are Sealed, but not the bottom.I am going out of my Mind sitting here on this Beautiful Day and can't go out and take some PICS.Thank You for Your Feed Back SEAN........................

I think only the top end Canon cameras have any weather sealing, that would be the 1dmkii range, possibly the 5d though I'm not sure about it.

Remember that you also need weather sealed lenses to go with the weather sealed body :)

No sealing on the 5d - just the 1d's. As Matt says, only a few of the top end L series are sealed too: the 24-105 is, the 70-200 f/4 ISN'T nor is the 300mm f/4.

Weather sealing isn't something that can be retro fitted I'm afraid, it's designed into the camera from the ground up with numerous seals at key places. As pointed out you also need a weather sealed lens or water will probably get in through the lens mount.

Weather sealing points on 1 Series cameras...

IIRC, as others have said, weathersealing is only present on the 1 series digital cameras. They are pretty ££££.

Cheaper alternatives ata reasonable price point are:

Olympus E1. Old and 5mp. Noisy too.

Pentax's K10D also, and weighs in at ~£700 for the body.

Nikon D200 is another weather sealed body at a slightly less than affordable pricepoint.

So either sick with what you've got, pay loads for a canon pro body, or buy from another manufacturer!

Or just hide away when it rains. No one wants to get wet anyway do they?

There are loads of Weather covers for cameras, Ive got a Kata kit which covers the camera and lens pretty damn well, and I wouldn't hesitate to use my 5D inside it in pretty much any weather conditions.

my 20d has been out in the rain loads of times and its not dead yet! who needs weather seals!

Same with my 300d. It's actually surprising just how much they'll take :) I've used it in some quite heavy downpours over the years, and as long as you're sensible, you'll be fine.
