We are all going to starve

to be honest sooner or later we'll do it to ourselves - when a population expands beyond its carrying capacity you eventually get a popuulation crash - generally from starvation and disease (and also conflict over diminishing resources). Basic ecology , known to everyone, except apparently politicians

True! But then again you can never be quite sure if an asteroid or a new ice age will arrive on time. Asteroids or ice ages are like policemen ... there's never one around when you need one.
 
Politicians aren't the ones throwing millions of tons of food away or breeding exponentially.
 
Just as well, we'd be over run by rich idiots instead :(
