Yes
My partner's computer decided it wanted to download WINDOWS 10 even though I'd given it strict instructions not to. Downloaded Adobe Photoshop 14 (legally) and the screen said. RESTART - hmm Then it said WDF violation and it has frozen everything out. No power to monitor, mouse or any other bit of machinery. WTF!

LOADS OF TIMES! Even the power light has gone out at the front, even though it has "tried" to power up! I hate windows 10

It's supposedly a driver issue from what I've seen but a lot of people are struggling with it. If everything is backed up might be quicker to download the install iso on another machine and start a fresh, tends to clog the drive up with old Windows files upgrading any way.

From MS support pages re WDF error:

If you [have issues] before sign-in:

1. Try connecting to different video outputs on the PC. Sometimes a change in driver can cause the video to be sent:

  • To a different Adapter: from integrated graphics to a discrete card or vice versa.
  • To a different output: from HDMI to DVI, DisplayPort to VGA, or any other combination.
2. Try to boot into Safe Mode with Networking or Enable low-resolution video.

  • Advanced boot options, Safe Mode with Networking, or Low Resolution Video.

  • Check Device Manager and look for Display Adapters.
    1. If you see 2 items under Display Adapters, disable to integrated video card (e.g. Intel HD 4000 or AMD Radeon HD 4200) and restart. (try vice versa if it does not work)
    2. If you see 1 item under Display Adapters, rollback the driver or uninstall the display adapter in Device Manager, and enable the option to delete driver software.

10 hasnt actually been too bad for that

Compared to the size of modern hard drives perhaps not to be fair but every GB counts with smaller SSD's. Think their was about 6-8GB reported in system clean up on my tablet.

are you talking about the old W7 files that get cleared down after 30 days (or manually removed if you don;t want to roll back)?

It could well be. My laptop I upgraded to get the new key then fresh install straight away out of habbit more than anything but when I received my tablet it was refurbished and had either been upgraded or they'd used the restore/wipe built into Windows as was a Windows.old folder and lot of left over bits.

yeah the windows.old folder is the old W7 stuff that gets retained for 30 days in case you want to roll back :)

And from Windows 8 I'm guessing? Shame they can compress it further with so many tablets 32GB and less running Windows these days.
