Hi there learned ones :)

A little while ago I purchased a WD MyHome NAS - it's a 2TB single drive model. It currently has 3 "zones" - one each for me and 'er indoors plus a "public" zone (which is mapped as drive "Y") where we can share stuff. When I turn on my desktop PC (which is also rather new) everything works okay but after a while the "public" zone fails to respond and W10 reports it is disconnected. This only happens on my new desktop PC and my laptop, but not on the wife's laptop or any of our other devices. My private zone - mapped as "Z" remains available all the time.

As "Y" and "Z" are on the same physical hard drive this can't be a fault with the NAS - can it?

MY PC is running W10 Home - a new install with all updates and security patches installed. I'm using the built-in Realtek Gb Ethernet port.

Any suggestions, folks?

Problem solved :)

The culprit was the Virgin Hub 3 and a reboot has (at least temporarily) solved the problem until VM can get another one to us.

TBH, I've always thought this router was a bit flakey but VM refused to accept it. I have hopes that the replacement hub will also result in higher download speeds as all we've managed to get over the last year since we moved here has been pitiful. My 4G MiFi unit is faster :(
