Something special when it happens. I was at Wembley for the Arsenal vs Hull cup final, 2-0 down and they'd also hit the post, and we win 3-2. I've been to a number of cup finals, but that one, and beating Utd at OT to take the title were the best days ever.....

Getting to and from the Devon County Show in remarkably quick time. Set off at 09:10, expecting the 4 or so miles to take about 90 minutes but it took less than 30; about the same as normal (non DCS weekends). Likewise coming home, although once we hit town, I realised that the super quick transit from the show to town had dropped us into school run time! Still under the half hour though.

I didn't mind going to the Show when I had a pass and got paid for it. I wouldn't mind going if it was £5 and I might even go as far as £10. Once it gets to £25, though, I'll let others support it. :coat:

Used to love going there but they keep putting it on when we're committed to other things. Very inconsiderate of them :( . Very easy for us as well - 303, off at Daisy Mount, turn right and we're there. Maybe next year............

Pre bought tickets dropped it down to £23 each and a couple of canny purchases saved us that, as planned.

WCMUT was a visit to the VSCC's annual hillclimb at Wiscombe Park in East Devon. A few cars from previous years missing but a few newcomers onto the scene too. Plenty of Methanol burners with their extra "R" and raucous 'zorsts!

Wifey, walks in the door with a 10 pack of Bud. I say thanks but it's Friday and Fridays don't have a beer o'clock. She replies, 'Bank Holiday ones do'.

Happy days, see you on the flipside.

First young I've seen so far, nice to see a few :)
I'm regularly getting a couple of dozen probing the lawn.
Mostly adults, but one or two are bringing the kids with them now.

This arrived an hour ago.

Got it all assembled and it's flippin' brilliant.

Packs up very small too. Perfect for the bike.

Not rated for my weight! Looks good for those not so blessed in the mass department!!!

WCMUT was being able to move after yesterdays attic antics!

WCMUT was picking up Mrs Nod's new bike. Got there in the end!!!

Why is it so bleeding hard to get a new vehicle?

Care to share?
Just a quick shot of the latest addition to our stable - Mrs Nod's Herald has finally been brought home after one miscarriage and a swift reimpregnation! It's a Herald Scrambler 125 rather than the Classic she originally preferred but after being screwed around by the first salesman, we went elsewhere and they had a preregistered Scrambler for £2,300 rather than the 3 grand for a brand new Classic. I'm not a huge fan of knobblies but for the £700 saving, we can afford to change them if Mrs Nod wants to!

In fields this morning I bumped into a lady, who it turns out is the wife of a landowner in the area, I had a quick chat about the guys I had a run in with a little while back (Hare coursers).

It turns out there is a group that watch for these type of guys and she's going to relay my info to the chap whos runs the group.

She seemed to love the local wildlife and she had real passion talking about Hares boxing just before meeting me, it's a relief to know the local landowners do care for the wildlife even if they do hold shoots :)

Her gun dog was extremly well behaved to as the Hares ran about too.

WCMUT ( and the last few as well)
(i) The return of a hedgehog, after almost a years break.
Its not a regular one from last year, its quite nervous, and not keen on dog food either.
Preferring Mealworms ( as they all do), peanuts & small kibble, its for small dogs but it really likes them.
The last couple of nights I've been mixing all that together, and its been clearing its plate.

(ii) I thought my bird bath had sprung a leak, but I couldn't see one,
every day it was half empty, I took he removable top off and set it on newspaper, for a couple of day, the paper was dry

Last evening, I discovered ( after putting it back) the reason, Starlings, bathing, half a dozen at a time and chucking water everywhere!

We have about 20 Starlings emptying our pond too, by washing/playing in the waterfall, messy sods

They'll struggle to empty my pond, but large corvids, give it a good try in the shallow end.
Not only that, they soak large pieces of bread in there to soften it up, I'm guessing its for the kids :D

Or their old and can't chew anymore :D

I've just had a tradesman turn up on time, do a good job and for a very reasonable price.

I feel as if I'm in some sort of bizarre alternative reality,

I don't know how I can prove this except to say that I'm not high or drunk and as far fetched as this all sounds... I am indeed telling the truth.

WCMUT (and certainly made 06:00 more appealing!) was watching a pair of young foxes playing in a hollow where an Oak used to be across the road. Chasing, pouncing, wrestling for 15 minutes or more until a dog walker appeared and the foxes vanished!

I was unsure whether to put this in WAMT......but here it is with the irony/karma of it ;)

A news report said that school students had been scammed trying to buy this year's exam papers!

So, perhaps just me but to hear that those that wished to cheat have in their turn been cheated seemed like karma to me.

Also, who reported the scam......... personally I hope those who got scammed get "a talking to" for their attempts at cheating on the upcoming exams.

Oh, I surmise the scam was they paid and got nothing but perhaps they received something but not what they were expecting
