WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Good luck to them with the Road Cycling events and surviving the potholes etc. No doubt they will probably just resurface the specific routes (for the cameras) like they did with the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

The power of the internet CMUT :D

I had a problem with a guy/company and he seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth as his phone wasn't answered and yet at other times was engaged but 10 seconds later no reply again plus he didn't respond to messages. So, I left him a bad review on Google and he was on the phone an hour later :D

He kept saying he doesn't appreciate the bad review, well, I don't appreciate him being unreachable and not replying to messages.

He's supposed to be coming on Wednesday. Would you take down the bad review? I might amend it to the effect that he eventually turned up and resolved the issue, if indeed he does, but I think it's staying up.

Anyway, a big cheer for Google reviews :D

When he turns up...... don't forget the coffee & biscuits to keep things 'calm'........but for sure IMO in a friendly way to say that you would be updating the review to reflect the (satisfactorily) completed job ;)

PS but reviews should truly reflect a suppliers performance, even more so with a sole trader!

Was not sure whether to put this here or in Talk Nature

Make sure you have your sound on/up ;)

Ta.

To me the test of an individual or company is what they do when there's a problem. He took the installation money (it's a house alarm) but we had a string of faults and although at first he responded he then stopped, I assumed because he was spending time on the job for no more money.

Still, as above I'm cheered up by the power of a negative review there for anyone to see :D

Ah! in your shoes I would do as I mentioned above but with this caveat, explained to the tradesman, that "after this visit I hope all issues & faults are 100% solved..." and that I will be updating the review to reflect that immediate post visit situation BUT will state I will update the (in the review) review again in 4-6 weeks to confirm all has indeed be sorted out ;)

PS yes, re: the 'test' is indeed how well "they" respond to issues & problems. Good service is not about the veneer of the successful sales pitch but the service support following the purchase:)

It might be much more fun (and a great deal funier) if they just left the potholes alone... :naughty:

My SKY HD bx has been playing up for a while, normally I've done all the reset stuff and it fixes it.
Happened just before Christmas, totally lost signal which possibly meant the LNB or one of the connections had failed.
Rang Sky thought about the new Sky Stream but decided against it, so agreed to a new SkyQ, which was sorted yesterday, ,
they didn't charge me for January.
Got say after being a bit sceptical I now love it already, it has voice control and actually finds what I ask it to, no more searching for stuff or trying to work out what button to press :D

A first for me ...

Woke up this morning to find a photo made Flickr Explore, nice little confidence boost :D
Nice one Gav, on both counts (y)

The sunshine cheered me up but it always does! :)

Waking up after a really good sleep cheered me right up, as yesterday was very strange as my emotions ended up all over the place. Have just ordered some stretchy latex thingys to go on the door for when I get the go ahead to start being able to do more at home. It helps that it's lovely and sunny today here too.

Just spent another unexpected lovely day with the wonderful Freddie.
Had him for the afternoon yesterday then was asked if he could come back for the day today.
He's so laid back and relaxed, a real pleasure to have, shame he's going to a new home in a couple of weeks, I'll miss him

Walking alongside the Thames today on my way to Battersea Power Station I was stopped by a gent walking his dog who also happened to be carrying a mirrorless Canon camera with what I think was a 50mm F1.2.

I was carrying my R7 and 70-200 cradled in my arms and he said "can I take a photo of you holding your camera, it looks like you're holding a baby"

"Err yes of course" I said and with a single click he was gone!

I got stuck behind a shapely young lady on a bike, on a narrow road and couldn't get past for miles and miles and........................... (apologies for politically incorrect content-other genders are available! :)

Almost a year to the day I bought a "pair" of adult Corn-snakes, one then promptly laid 13 eggs.
As noted elsewhere 5 hatched & 2 have survived and feeding and shedding well.

The last couple of days I've seen courtship behaviour between them.
Last night, they were really going for it, but I never saw them entwine.
Who knows what happened when the lights went out.

I'll know if something did happen in about 6 weeks ...

What cheered me up today, discovering that my crop wide angle lens will work on my R5 as far as I can work out will give a full frame image at 16mm will vignette at 11mm
Will try it out properly later
Tokina 11-16 crop lens
At the moment I don’t have a wide angle lens for full frame couldn’t justify the expense as I only occasionally shoot landscape

Update No more courtship behaviour over the last 24 hours +
They are both piled up in their log cave, it never cease to amaze me, how 8 feet ( 4 x 2 ) of snake can get into such a small space.
They both ate a hearty meal of fur on large mouse, last night, and are now chilling out.

Maybe he got lucky the other night, maybe he missed his chance...

VW Italy's Instagram handle.

Voltarol, make up removal pads and electrical tape.

The flare up of osteoarthritis in my big toe was defeated. Still able to walk 5 miles at marching speed.

And, half way round my walk I found an empty 20 litre oil can. Perfect for storing my old engine oil.
I was only thinking about that yesterday.

Haven't been to the Kelpies in a long time and the weather was pretty good today, so snagged a quick photo and quite happy how it turned out.

Well for the last few days actually.
Cloudless days, might be chilly but I don't turn the lights on till nearly 6pm and it's almost daylight n the mornings at 6'30 am

Almost feeling myself again, caught up on my work after having to take random days off, finally starting to put weight back on after losing 8kg since mid December

Now just need to catch up on my TP 52  :$
