WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Yep this. 14 hour shifts on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, wife also worked both :-(
 
I usually worked similar hours Christmas and New Year, family was up early before I went out to work, they probably went back to bed after I was away, it also meant the in-laws had been and gone before I got home.
 
I finally figured out how to use that old Sony camera I got on eBay the other week, if I can somehow get a 2 Gig memory stick for it (that's the biggest it'll take apparently), sorted for next year's comic cons.

I now have Unity assets working on my Ubuntu box, and working Gameboy and Gameboy Advance emulators and all the games (not strictly legal so the Mods can punish me for mentioning if you want but it's my choice to play retro games)

WCMUT was me having the (somewhat rare!) foresight to book a table at a café in Lyme Regis rather than turning up on spec.. The queue for cancellations must have been 20+ people long when we left.

The other thing that CMUT was a beach chair (as recommended by Dale of this parish!) turning up early and being just what the fat geezer sitting in my chair ordered!
 
WCMUT was remembering to change the batteries in the smoke alarms. I (try to) do it on new year's day every year but sometimes have to buy batteries after then (because I'm a f***wit!!!) I change them before they demand fresh batteries because the bloody things seem to always start their demands at 4AM and I'd rather they stayed silent until I am awake instead of struggling to get at the bu99ers when I'm 3/4 asleep (and p***ed off!)

No worries! I used to drink. A LOT which is why I don't so much now. And never in the nude! :P :asshat:
 
More of a chuckle really,

Door bell rings, I answer the door, 2 guys stood there obviously selling something ( they were holding catalogues)
I quickly apologised for wasting their time, by opening the door, as I was waiting for an imminent Amazon delivery.
Their faces were a picture as I quickly shut the door, before they even had time to fire off one word :D
 
I've spotted a pair of JWs before and managed to fire "I've already got one and it's very nice" from MP & the Holy Grail before shutting the door in their faces. Also had a pair and their (or "a") child run down the drive when I've offered to teach the child some new words. We've always had a sign beside the doorbell button advising against cold calling - ignored at the ringer's own risk!
 
My mates is a JW and our house is on the ‘don’t knock’ list, or whatever it’s called, unless he happens to be in the street and then he pops by for a blether.
 
WCMUT?

Its finally stopped raining after about 10 days, although there were a few snow flurries earlier.

The sky is clear, and just after 16:00 there is still daylight left.
Makes a change from being almost dark an hour earlier over the past passed week or so. :)
 
Yup, takes a couple of weeks after the Solstice for the days to start getting noticeably longer but it's always very welcome!

Its even better when I'm not covered in dense thick cloud solstice or no solstice.
Yesterday was dark around 15:30 I'm sure the daylight hours didn't increase by half an hour over night.
 
Indeed. Bright sunshine with very little cloud around here this morning. Must try to remind Mrs Nod to reset her car's early morning prewarm back up!
