WCMUT....what cheered me up today

I'd say yet another ambiguous guideline ( are these actually law? I guess they are) rather than a conundrum.

Exercise should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.*
Staying in your local area means stay in the village, town, or part of the city where you live.

*My "area's post code" covers a massive area from towns, shops woodland area's,
Lakes ....

Yes, but what Neil did might/might not be stretching the rules but it was entirely safe for him & others as far as I can see. Its different from stretching the guidelines cleverly to socialise etc.

I wasn't disagreeing with you.
Just posting another example of the ambiguity of it all.....

That’s the trouble wi‘ t‘interwebs, everything comes across as a ”quarrel” rather than a discussion :( .

It was also the first exercise I have had since the gym shut before Chistmas. Unless you include Monday to Friday, 8hrs a day, having to metaphorically carry the lazy git who works on the opposite shift to me. :)

And some people ( not you) will argue about anything anyway hence the length of some threads :D

Well a new to me lowepro urban sling bag arrived for when I go and shoot street photography (post lockdown). It only cost £11 and looks brand new!

I originally bought a lowepro slingshot 302 for £16 but that's quite a bit bigger than I thought it would be, but ideal for walking in the lakes (post lockdown).

Looking forward to heading out once this is all behind us.

In relation to the pandemic rules I travel to/from work and if I exercise (I do daily) I walk from my front door and do no more than 5 miles in a loop. People are interpreting the rules any way that suits them and have done all the way through, some party, some drive to exercise, some are visiting friends and family. I'm just focusing on keeping me and my family safe as best I can. My day job involves visiting people in their homes (often those living in pretty poor conditions too!) but apparently I'm not entitled to the vaccine!

I resent that, I am well known for arguing (not quarrelling, not contradicting) about anything :) I have also often been unjustly accused of being sarcastic :(.

It takes 2 to argue

Not strictly true, I think, someone can present an argument for something, so are they not arguing for it?
:)

Hmmmmm

More a case of What Made Me Laugh Today.
Reading through a thread on Ten Tenths motorsport forum, several people slating one of the BTCC drivers who is being rumoured to be getting a drive in one of the top teams. Said driver posts in the early hours of this morning, that his ears are burning. Now they are all grovelling and sucking up to him, saying it wasn't him, it was the car he was driving. :)

Had a long day today and browsing ebay for things I couldn't afford and got me a a reasonable deal on a Lastolite tri grip 8in1 75cm reflector for £30inc postage so happy with that!

I just caught this heartening story on the Five Live news this morning and found the article. This dog had chased a deer in the Wicklow mountains,Ireland and got lost...for two weeks. It was found by hikers and carried 10kms to the home of the couple who found it and was re-united with the owners. Here's a video of it.

Not so much as Cheered me up but Amused me today.
I have managed to start WW3 on one of our local Facebook groups.
A woman asked, in light of Essex having delayed this weeks rubbish collection because of the snow, had anyone seen the refuse lorries about anywhere. I lit the blue touch paper and pointed out we don't live in Essex. (Been a London Borough since 1965) Now it's all kicked off. :)

It's a bit like that with Bramhall, which ceased to be in Cheshire in the boundary changes in 1974, and some of the people who live there still like to think they live in Cheshire, rather than Greater Manchester. As a Cheshire resident, I love putting them right about that whenever I get the chance, just to wind them up - you don't live in Cheshire, you live in Grey-ur Manchestoh! :giggle:

Wasn't sure where to post this as it didn't cheer me up but on reflection the fact that the driver was caught on camera by Avon & Somerset police it has :)

Driving whilst using a mobile phone is a £200 fine but what was doing has to be dangerous driving. Max 2 years imprisonment and 12 months disqualification.

I was just telling my wife about what I have started and even she thought we lived in Essex. :)
I was born about 4 miles from where I live now, lived there for 27yrs, years before I was born it was just a small village, but got encompassed into the town as the town grew in the 50's. I never referred to where I lived by the name of the village, but by the town. Same as where I live now for 31yrs, it has it's own name but is called by the name of the town that has seemed to encompass it. When I first moved here o would use both town names, but now like everyone else, we all put Essex instead of London as our address. Comes as a surprise to those who have moved to the area.

Your profile says you live in Essex????
Ever since TOWIE hit the screens everyone is finding an excuse to distance themselves from it (y)
And can you blame them?

Give it it's true title.
TOWIELOS
The Only Way Is East London Over Spill. Nobody from Essex talks like that. ;)

My daughter lives near Romford which everyone assumes is Essex but she is in Haringey, a London Borough.

Ref. profile. I always assumed where you are from meant where you live now, which is why I changed mine when we moved house.

Romford is Havering not Haringey. Same Borough as me. :)

Got a date and time for jab 1 - Wednesday, 09:50.

Although he always claimed to be from Upminster, Essex, he was born in Harrow in 1942. He moved to Essex (Upminster) in 1957. Upminster became part of London Borough of Havering in 1965, Harrow became part of London at the same time. ;)
Despite the London Borough status up until 5 or so years ago Havering towns were always listed as Essex on the news or in the press, now its Greater London or worse East London.
Greater London was anywhere with an 0181/0171 phone number, Havering was and is 01708 now anywhere with in the M25 seems to have gained the title

I have a simple test, and Royal Mail agrees with me — no London postcode ( W1, SE1, SW ... etc), not in London. If it’s a London postcode then add London as the postal town, otherwise not. I don’t know about foreign parts like Essex etc, but I lived in Hayes, Kent when the post codes were born and we were told to still put “Bromley, Kent” with the BR postcode and I see Royal Mail still lists “xxxxx xxxx Bromley BR1” as the address, compared with “xxx xxx London SE1” etc. :).

Havering has only been 01708 since 1995. The M25 didn't exist when Havering became a London Borough. It predates it by 10yrs.

You'd have probably been told to put Bromley, Kent, just to avoid any confusion with Bromley by Bow. ;)
