WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Finished the commercialmas cake a few weeks back so Mrs Nod made a fruit slab with no icing. Feeding it with the same mix of spirits as the commercialmas cake kept it moist enough for the week it lasted! Having finished the last of that yesterday, today was brownie day. THAT's what cheered ME up today!!!

Just no.

Love Marmite and HCBs but definately would not like them.

HCB with a nice mature cheddar in it is lovely! ;)

HCBs seem very appropriate food for a photography forum;)

Actually getting help from the ITV hub people.
I sometimes do watch series etc of the various different hub ITV HUB. /My5/All4/UKTVPlay etc
Find it really annoying that my new LG Smart TV doesn't have them pre-installed so I have to go through the web
browser !!!!
A few days ago ITV hub wouldn't play and kept asking me to sign in, so I emailed the help desk
and got a reasonably fast reply and now all is back to normal, if it goes wrong again I know how to sort it

An electric shower will typically give you 3-5 litres per minute flow rate.
A typical mixer shower will give you around 9-11, possibly more, depending on the combi boiler that you have....
Having moved from a house with a mixer shower to an electric shower, I miss the force of the water. Electric shower is less powerful, and if someone turns the water on downstairs, the shower gets very hot (almost scalding) before the safety kicks in and it goes cold. Very annoying. On the plus side, when the boiler stopped working, the electric shower was still good.
quick picture to show you, but remember it's not the latest version
I can’t recall if ours is the sprint or the sport but it’s less than two years old and still the same sort of layout. No one turns the temp down from hot.

Not had a problem with that here, mind you other water pressure is quite strong, you have to be careful when you turn the kitchen tap on else you get a cold shower
Wish the same could be said with the flow from the cold water tank, that isn't that good but it's enough to fill the cistern
just nit too quickly, never have it much above where it is in the picture for heat, it does get scalding hot

I dare you!!!

Many years ago, I ended up as a caretaker admin on a forum and when the owner returned from holiday, he started being a real winkie. So I banned him. Let him back in and banned myself.

Much prefer crumpets as a sweet option rather than savoury - as much butter as will stay in the bubbles, topped with good jam (or not!)

Yesterday.

Mrs WW was writing a piece about the differences between the UK and Thailand for her English class and one thing she included was that it surprised her that in the summer it's still light in the UK at 22:00. She asked me for a picture I'd taken of her under a clock to show this. I looked and looked and I just couldn't find it so I asked her if she had a copy, and she did, so I got her to email it to me. The first thing I noticed was that it was a picture of a clock not a picture of her standing under a clock. That's one reason I couldn't find it as I'd been looking for a picture of her under a clock. I then checked the exif and it was taken with a iphone. I don't have an iphone. So, a picture I'd taken of her under a clock turned out to be a picture she'd took of a clock. "Have you found it yet" "I'm still looking." No wonder. I had to laugh :D

After finding this morning my lazy shift partner had left yet another clutch for me to change. I have just bumped into one of a couple of blokes at work who pitcrew for the race team I follow in the British Touring Car Championship. The team are shaking down their cars this afternoon on our test track prior to their first pre season test next week. Good news as the team changed hands recently and I wasn't sure if they would continue using our test track. I finish at 12, but only live less than 10 minutes away, so home grab something to eat grab my camera and come back for 2pm for when they get here and grab a few photos. :)

I'm sure that would be seen as an essential journey.

Mrs Tringa's description of a duck that flew over the garden about an hour ago. It was one of those time when you just can't get the name.

She said "Look!", pointing at the sky. I turned around but missed it so said, "What was it?"

This is where the word alluded her and she said,"Er, fast wings, a long neck, beaky at the front."

Good description, though “beaky at the front”?

As an experienced amateur naturalist, jizz is very important.

Jizz?
Just googled it, and now I know the terms relation to birdwatching.
Never heard that phrase before in that context.....
Damn! I've been watching too much pornhub!
:D

It possibly originated with bird watchers but it describes what’s needed with all animals, arguably plants too (and I sometimes think those inanimate things you are looking for :().

Travel for exercise is permissible, I will be having a nice walk in the sun, with the occasional rest period. Plus I will also be at work :)

And people wonder why Essex has such a high Covid rate...

What's he doing that's wrong?
He finishes at 12, goes home, comes back to work at 2pm....

I’m not criticising him, but what you say is not true I think — going back to workplace is not the same thing.

Ah, right.
Because he's going back to his workplace, but not to work?
If he walks though it would be exercise....

Yes, IF he carried on walking, not stopping for any spurious reason.

In theory, no.

If people keep pushing the limits of what they do, where do you stop? We're (hopefully) on our way out of the current situation so the fewer steps backwards the better and the best way to keep going forwards is to behave as though you are infected, avoiding contact as far as possible. As an uncle put it this morning, we can't quite see the light at the end of the tunnel but can just about make out a dull glow. Don't blow out that candle!

We bought 8 scones from a cheapie shop for £1. They're lovely. I had two, one with just butter and one with home made orange and pineapple jam. Yum Yum Yum.

What he is doing is obviously as safe or otherwise as his normal journey to work but it can be argued he’s just using that as an excuse. I think its very borderline but an interesting example.

Actually the part of Essex that has the highest rate, might even be the UK'S highest rate, is closer to me in London, than where I was this afternoon, so I was socially distancing myself from it. Had a lovely afternoon out in the warm sunshine, plenty of fresh air, exercise walking up and down the slippery wet banking at the side of the test track and even though we were all outside, we were all wearing masks, and remained at least 2m apart when we were talking. So I don't think we will have done anything to add to Essex's covid rate.

I could have just as easily stayed at work for a couple of hours instead of driving home and back. Everybody else has the option to drive somewhere to take their exercise, I took advantage of going one better, I went to a private place where most people don't have access and I remained outside. As the opposite shift were at work this afternoon, I am not allowed inside any of the buildings because it would be considered cross contamination.

As I said earlier,I’m not criticising you, I just think it’s an interesting “legal” conundrum :).

I'd say yet another ambiguous guideline ( are these actually law? I guess they are) rather than a conundrum.

Exercise should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.*
Staying in your local area means stay in the village, town, or part of the city where you live.

*My "area's post code" covers a massive area from towns, shops woodland area's,
Lakes ....
