WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Did it still work?

I think so but we had no way to test it

This was what was in the description

Has been in storage but was in full working order prior to packing it up.

Lots of things have cheered me up today. A good run down to Paignton, a good look round the BMAD (Bikers Make A Difference) show before the hordes arrived, a nice run back after Torquay... Followed by an unexpected lunch out with Mrs Nod (I wasn't expecting to be back so early so we went out for a bite rather than doing Sainsbury's and eating in) followed by another run on Big Red down to Exmouth for a cuppa and a pose! Finally, a large ouzo with a savoury hummus based dip as the obligatory snack with it.

Yes, was hoping it might get to £100 but it seems to have fetched the going rate
Well, it's been said setting an auction to end Sunday morning is the most profitable choice, because drunks coming home after a Saturday night out will go online and get into bidding wars with each other.
I know I've seen used stuff sell for more than you'd pay for new.
Some will just take a non-payment strike after they sober up, but the rest will pay up.

Playing rugby for the first time in 12 years.

That's after that past 18 months which have included physio on my knee and becoming asthmatic!

WCMUT. A Sinclair ZX81 that Mrs F found whilst clearing out the garage selling for £75 on Ebay

Blast from the past!

Reminder to me that somewhere in storage I have a ZX Spectrum and cassette tape player.....cannot recall any games but your post makes me wonder what might sell for??? Based of course on finding it etc

Is it boxed, and in good nick, with all manuals and leads?
Collectors will pay for eye candy.

I still have a ZX81 in it's box with manuals, an memory expansion and a few programming books. The ZX81 was a birthday present from my Mum and Dad when I was 17.

WCMUT, just got back from picking my youngest son up from the Cinema. As I pulled into the car park and drove up to the pick up point, I could see a group of 4 girls looking all excited. My son got in the car chuckling away to himself. Seems the girls thought I was their Uber driver and they thought they were being going to get a ride in a Focus RS. :)

WCMUoS (on Saturday) was a new Tilley hat arriving. The oldest of the hats was getting a bit threadbare so I sent it back for a free replacement - 2nd replacement of this one, they seem to last me about 5 years of abuse.

Is it orange juice proof? :D

The new one will be for a while but then the waterproofing will wear off and the OJ will stain it a bit. :P

The things aren't cheap but they should (in effect) last forever. I actually have 3 - 2 of the older style and one of the newer AirFlo types. Oh, and a very old (they used to return the worn out ones) one that's too disreputable for even me to wear it outdoors, other than to TP possible meets - it's held together with a TP patch!

Wrong time of day, but hey ho, don't see it that often, Ayrshire skies today.

Evening walk around local lake and it struck me that bird numbers were lower than previous years with limited obvious signs of nesting......apart from a couple of Coot nests though no sign of eggs yet.

The WCMUT was seeing the Great Crested Grebes doing a courtship dance, the first time we have ever seen courtship behaviour........ so note to self to keep a regular walkabout and see if when/if they start next building.

A partial WAMT was no camera just binoculars :)

The possibility of being owned by this little fella in 5 weeks. :)

They are trying to con you, That's not a penguin, don't be fooled!

:D

I'll reserve judgement until I can see if he has happy feet. ;)

He's gorgeous. We'll need lots of pictures proving just how gorgeous what a little monster he is.............. (Had lots of cats...............been there :()

Hopefully, he'll keep our 6 year old tom cat on his toes

Are his littermates called Riddler, Joker, Twoface, Catwoman, and Harley?

Haha, would be good but no. Panther,Pig & Pug!

In 5 weeks? I reckon he already has part of your soul! :D

Enjoy him.

WCMUT was being in and out of a hospital appointment within 1/2 an hour. Only to have a small soft lump removed from the inside of my cheek but still cheering to have not been held up for long. (Took as long to find a parking space, if not longer! [See WAMT thread...])

:P

Nah - that's usually firmly wedged there! A small papilloma (at least that's what I think the dentist called it!) that I've had for years but have recently started catching more often so decided to have it off.

Finally got to test drive a car on the test track at work, powered by the engine I have been testing and developing. Only a quick run but it felt good. No where near as quick as my RS, but certainly impressed with how it pulled. Didn't get to drive it in Sport mode as they couldn't get the laptop to talk to the ecu to set it up, but something to look forward to when I get another drive.

Well, that kinda satisfaction at work has to feel good.

Testing and developing the engine on a dyno test bed and watching it make the required figures, sometimes more, has been good, but getting the chance to experience it in a car is so much better. One of the chief development engineers is driving a similar car tomorrow to sign off certain elements of the engine. Hopefully if all goes well they may agree to some further changes to the engine which will mean another engine program and more work for our department.

WCMUT was getting to the Devon County Show (and back from it) in very little more time than it takes to do the same trip on "normal" days. Took 30 minutes rather than 25. Not sure how well tomorrow's going to flow for them - Exeter Chiefs have a home match and the new Ikea has its official opening - both share a main access roundabout with the show. What might keep things slightly less busy are a football match on telly and a local bloke (well, his [possible/probable] dad's local!) is having his wedding on the box too!

My elctric supplier reducing my monthly payments and giving me a refund on what I've already paid (y)

30 MPH @ 1,000 RPM with a 6,500 RPM red-line. Not that I'd ever use anything like all the revs in top but even so! (I think it's got a 140 limiter but I'll never know for sure!)

Yup - and I've used a few lives up and not sure how many I have left!!! :P:P:P:D

The Bonnie and Speedmaster passing their MOTs cheered me up as well but that was last week.

Front right sharp thing poised, ready to strike!
