WCMUT....what cheered me up today

WCMUT Grimsby (the movie) just released on Sky and hilarious. Exactly how us Southerner imagine a northern town :p

A trip to the beach for a burger and an ice cream did it for me today. Always happy to drive Mrs Nod's car as well - as long as she's paying for the fuel!!!

Meeting an old friend (not seen for years due to geography) for coffee and a catch up. :-)

Was yesterday for this one but picking up the keys for easily the nicest car that I've ever owned, I cannot wait to start using it..

And today, firstly a surprise visit from a very long standing family friend who sadly we don't see often enough which was fantastic just to have great catch up

And secondly cooking a lovely slow roast lamb with all the trimmings for my dad, aunty and myself

Getting an invitation , unexpectedly , to go out for lunch :D

About to leave for my first day at the new company.
Yeay!

Hope all went well at your new job, Ruth.

As for WCMUT, local Sainsbury's is being revamped over the next week so we went in to pick the bones out of the veg etc.. A few bits of F&V were good value but they also had a Panasonic 49" TV knocked down to £80 off the original price. Feeling cheeky, I asked someone who was packing stuff up for the refurb if a cheeky offer of £350 would get it. Not quite but I knew I was being a bit cheeky so when he came back with £369, I figured it was a good enough deal for me. Can now watch Countdown from the table where this PC is and see the letters and numbers (and Ms Riley :D) without my specs on. Can also watch Countdown NOW rather than at its normal time.
Also, we won an informal golf match - 2 up and 1 to play.

+1 Hope you had a fantastic first day at work. They've gained a star :)

WCMUT: Getting the registration papers through for my new car to be picked up next weekend, a really super good business meeting with a great team to turn around a challenging situation, and glad to see my family again after being away for the last two day. A really good day for me, bar the man flu continuing.

Good luck, hope it goes well.

.

Thank you chaps. :-)
First day began tenuously, as I'm sure most new management positions do.
But it ended pretty comfortably.
A good crew, a nice environment.
A short commute.
I'm all smiles.

Again....thank you to the commenters, and the likers. :-)

Wow a happy ending on the first day. Ruth what are you like :p

Being a knight in shining armour and all before 07:30! Mrs Nod dropped her car keys down a drain while fumbling for change. Bamboo cane, long screw in hook, job done! Thanks to Exeter City Council's apparent policy of not clearing blocked roadside drains until they actually cause flooding, the keys were sitting on a pad of leaves over solid grit so not wet or grubby.

Switched my broadband and telephony from TalkTalk to BT; package £29.99 including 'free' BT Sports channels, AMC channel (whatever that is) and a £150 MasterCard Pre-paid reward card, and by using Quidco a further £130 cash back. Plus a setup charge of £59 - So that is effectively £11 something per month for the next 12 months for broadband, line rental, all premiership football and some sport called rugby, compared to £42.99 I was paying. I guess they are having some serious customer acquisition drive as it is a pretty darn good deal!

WCMUT - A little present nicely wrapped up for us. It's freakin awesome :)

Do you get to take home the black magicians cape/cover too? :D (could come in useful this Winter if it's not cosseted in a heated garage)
Forgot to ask :( Did get some umbrellas and a driving experience day. But yes it will be inside a locked garage, nicely insulated by a German sectional door. Has to be as I'm not looking forward to polishing that black paintwork all the time, but at least I can do it in comfort.

l'll tell you when l stop laughing :ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO::D

Work.
Good day!

Police pulling over a driver who had been on his phone this morning in the outside lane of the A127. Driver would probably have got away with it as there was myself and another car between the police and the offender. Sure way to draw attention to yourself though, is not pay attention and let the car wander to the right and clip the kerb, throwing up loads of dust. Hopefully threw the book at him/her.

Trump is gorgeous?

Not even in the dreams of the deluded.... And yes, I'm counting his numerous wives in that. (Although I'm sure Melanomia is, as we speak, picking out new curtains for his temporary OEOB office!)

Having £26 of tesco vouchers in my account online... Then buying some more lego with it :)

Today I said good-bye to an old friend, we've been through a lot together, thick and thin, snow and ice mud up to the axles, and he always got me out of trouble,
He's not dead BTW just living it up in semi retirement...

WCMUT? He was replaced by a new van, they are quite something these days aren't they?
Built in Sat nav, blue tooth, touch screen radio, air con, cruise control, reversing camera and so much more.

Good bye Sam, hello Samantha :D

Upon hearing today that a narcissistic b*****d I used to associate with has an ASBO against him from one of his neighbours. life just does'nt get much sweeter.

WCMUT Escaping the city centre of Warsaw safely and reaching the airport. This was kicking off right outside my hotel, 7,000 police were deployed, smoke everywhere, canons going off. Hotel arranged a good (crazy) taxi driver getting me and a colleague out who was driving through red lights and the backstreets through police cordons. Next time I better check the calendar and leave a day earlier ;)

Amazing how these huge marches don't seem to make the international news.

Car passing its MOT, although it does need a pair of rear tyres all too soon!

Wcmut. Being back in GB. It really is a lovely place.

BBC1 right now.
