WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Managed my cycle to work in under an hour each way, first time I've managed it this year (though I haven't been riding in anywhere as often as I'd like) mainly thanks to cleaning the drivetrain so I can make use of all the gears and a new tyre as I've been plagued with punctures recently.
I had that until I fitted armoured tyres. Since then no more punctures.

Just a new standard tyre worked for me, it boasts a 'puncture resistant' layer but not specifically armoured. The punctures were my own fault really, the old tyre was about 5 years old, me being too much of a cheapskate to replace it, and the sidewall was collapsing. The front ones the same age and still going strong tho!

Finally getting the hang of of gravy browning. Actual proper gravy :) So much nicer than any of those granule thingies.

Don't know about you but I actually like doing a puncture repair. Something great about flipping the tyre off with the levers.

A puncture usually means I'm going to be late somewhere. And repairing it in a hurry, or in the cold or snow, is not what I'd call fun.

It all depends on where it happens, if I'm going into work it's "meh", on the way home: "NOOOOOOOOO!!". A front wheel puncture can be fun, you can imagine you've had a mechanical halfway through a stage or an F1 tyre change scenario and see how fast you can do it. Rear wheel ones are just a ballache. Also I never get the patches out roadside anymore, just swap the tube and patch it at home.

Good point. I only cycle for fun, or when I was younger to get to school so didn't care.

Wcmut working in the City. Whilst working from home is wonderful it is nice to be out and about. And it's a beautiful day ;)

Is there any other kind? :)
Agreed, cant stand bisto (other brands may be available), but never understood that UK obsession with it. You got all those lovely real meat cooking, why add that to it?

Wcmut the view from my new office. Nice to see people having fun and enjoying themselves whilst I am hard at work.

I imagined bisto would have been easier than gravy browning but it turns out that isn't true!
Welcome to the dark side.
Good here, isn't it? :-)

Stop gawping out the window and get back to work!

(Had a picnic in Golden Square for my lunch, so rank hypocrisy).

WCMUT - beer festival tonight. Wasn't planning on fog this year, but a friend who lives out of London messaged me yesterday saying he was going. :)
Oh, and the start of Palace's title season tomorrow. (I may have sunstroke).

Yes Sir! :)

A lovely 5 mile walk on Dawlish Warren, spoiled only by the 100 or so stops I had to make as I tried to hide a small yellow sphere in a succession of all too small holes!

As they say, a good walk, wasted.

WCMULN - Dinner, I just had a fantastic dinner last night. Caught up with a good friend who moved back from Sidney and ended up having dinner in the City which was like my perfect kind of dinner.

PS. Pretty please with the camera on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge as well. I had to make it smaller as I couldn't upload directly, but considering it was indoor this is pretty damn good.

Yup. :P

But it does get me off my fat arse a few times a week and any exercise is good for me. I try to play when Mrs Nod's teaching so she's not a golf widow (came far too close for comfort to making her a real one 4 years ago...) The occasional decent shot helps make up for the crap ones before it and I know there's plenty of room for improvement. One of these days, I might string a decent round together but currently, I'm usually reasonably happy with under my age over 9 holes.

Finally sourcing and fitting new draw runners to my kitchen units
Thanks to Toni ( @ancient_mariner ) for the heads up on the suppliers.

Finding what I wanted on a buying trip (as opposed to shopping!) this morning, followed by a nice lunch, a gentle trip to the beach in Mrs Nod's car for an ice cream (where we spent a short while watching a hydrofoil kite surfer - CAF!!!) and now (after 6pm...) DSCF4597.JPG :D

Ouzo?

After surviving the Dachau Beerfest last night with it's strong beer and a happy crowd, I'm off on holiday today with friends and kids, driving down to Austria for lunch and then on to Italy this evening to stay by some lake somewhere.

Sensible combination to go to a beerfest the night before you have a long journey ;)

There are beerfests on all the time at the moment, in all the local towns and villages. With a beer tent and bands. So they all have to be checked out.
But I'll be happily sitting in the back of the car watching the mountains go past.

 Yup, Ploumari. After much (MUCVH!!!) research, we have decided that it's our favourite. Most of the brands are drinkable and oddly enough, the Lidl own brand is possibly 2nd best IOO. Best over there, of course but a sunny evening here means that 6pm is Ouzo time!

Finding my sense of fun and humour still in tact despite being in constant pain for 3 years (y)
Had a really fun few days  probably going to suffer for it ;)

WCMUT? Getting £107 for my 4 numbers on Saturday's lottery.
Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. :-)

very nice too :)

Drinks are , I suppose, on you then ?

Post code? :P

WCMUT is this netbook deciding it'll actually work properly - only fired it up to remind me what its symptoms were when it wasn't playing nicely!

Wcmut. Thank you Herman Miller from tonight I'm planting my bottom on Aeron. Complete with posture fit and fully loaded.

Wcmut: finding these whilst tidying my home office. And explaining to my children what they are.

The look of amazement on their faces that each of these diskettes can hold a whopping 1.44MB. And that the VHS cassette can store 30 minutes of video at 335x576 resolution.

They felt sorry for us :)
