WCMUT....what cheered me up today

One year to go until my mortgage is paid off \o/
Nice feeling isn't it. The end is in sight for me as well, really loving the standard repayment mortgage we went for as it is going faster and faster. I should be ok before I get the mustard ;)

see my WAMT

It was my smoke alarm :) strangely enough it is a PP7 battery AND mains back up !

Sparky from plumber off to get a PP7 - I have other batteries but not that . Bless the guy he also changed my light bulb for me as well AND has done a quick boiler check whilst he was there.

Yes I'll get a bill - but it won't really be excessive and the firm know me and come as soon as they can so I pay for that sort of service cheerfully

WCMUT was my Royal Enfield motorcycle sailing through its MOT. Hope the cat does the same on Monday!

I sent my CV off to a company on Friday. Hoping to get a new job and be free from the idiots I'm working for now. I may not be successful, but just the act of sending the CV off does one the world of good.

Best wishes on that... "Go for it"

A gentle 50 mile pootle on the Enfield. Sun shining, not too many idiots trying to kill me andonly 1 group of 20 or so cyclists riding in a solid group blocking the road...

Thanks. I've just realised that it's the first time since my apprenticeship in the 70's that I've actually applied for a job. So it's all new to me. I've always drifted between jobs via word of mouth in the past.

Still three weeks until our summer holiday, so I though sod it lets book another little trip. The look on the faces on my wife and children is priceless as they don't know where we are going :P

Ooh, ooh. Is it the Pencil Museum?

Nope, a Passport is required  I've been playing this game for 24 hours now, and can't say I've had that question come up ;) I guess we move in different circles.

WCMUT was the cat passing her MOT with flying colours then me being told that she's a few years younger than a stranger's cat (who was walking into the vets' as I was carrying Maisie out) who turned out to be only 8 (Maisie's apparently approaching 12!) Maisie not puking in her carrier was a plus too - she really doesn't enjoy her little excursions!

Cornwall!!! :p
Cornwall is lovely, just so far away. Considering the travel time from London you can be in Crete by then ;) I know where I'd rather be, and I can guess the same for you.

Well, yes - but not for a day trip (or even just nipping down for a pub lunch!) Gone are the days when one could do Colney Heath (call it St Albans!) to Exeter in 2 hours but add in the time it takes to check in at this end and the time it takes for your cases to arrive on the carousel at Heraklion and it's still just about quicker to do London to Cornwall than it is to get to Crete! (And that's before adding on the travel up to Bristol, parking, transfer etc.) 4 and a bit weeks... Yia mas!!!

That's just mean, Chris!

Sheppey?
Definitely need a passport, and vaccinations!

WCMUT: An Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to be exact. I'm feeling dirty moving away from Apple yet again, wonder whether I will get back yet again ;)

I met friends at a street fest in what appeared to be a very hipster part of town. And I found myself saying "There must be more beards per head here..."

And the camera part is not bad either :)

Sunshine! And not being unable to walk after about 7 miles of strolling yesterday. (Especially compared to 4 years ago when I was literally bedbound and practising being dead...)

It's 32 degrees in the city and hot in the commuter trains and offices. But don't worry the weekend will be cooler and wet.

The UK week-end is supposed to be the reverse after a miserable week

Seeing the resident Thrushes bring their two newest offspring (second brood this year) out of their bamboo hideout for a bit of a mealworm feast. :-)

Wcmut my wife got chatting to the 'nasty' farmer (according to our neighbours) and he asked whether we are interested in buying the land behind our house. Oh yes :) but at a reasonable price please. Happy days hopefully.

Just as we voted to get rid of the subsidies :p

Yeah its probably a bit of old set aside that he can't wait to get shot of :D

Although it would seem that they are now paying "something" towards wild life friendly management.
So I guess if Jp hangs up a few bird feeders, he'll be quids in :D

:) I think it is more to do with the call for site plan that was submitted, and if approved it will remove access to that part of the land. Well unless you restore the original access which is where our house was build 15 years later. I'm also offering that opportunity up to the builders to buy our property so they can have better access as per the original plans many many years ago.

That didn't make me popular with our neighbours during the planning meeting, the developer liked it though ;) So either that, or horses :)

Sod that, repurpose for equestrian use. I don't need it to make money, it will save money. Got my hammer, saw and nails ready to make it good. And finally have an excuse to buy a Deutz.

And I know a decent chap for pest control :p

Can you give me his contact details ? The company I work for is looking for a pest controler / falconer for a new contract

:D

Managed my cycle to work in under an hour each way, first time I've managed it this year (though I haven't been riding in anywhere as often as I'd like) mainly thanks to cleaning the drivetrain so I can make use of all the gears and a new tyre as I've been plagued with punctures recently.

Wcmut - getting the all clear from Neurology tonight. Good thing as I'm on my way now to Vauxhall for a pint or two or three or ... with my former colleagues.
