WCMUT....what cheered me up today

WCMUT
First clump of wild, stand alone, roadside Daffodils in full bloom

WCMUT: Learning that Bear Grylls slept in a small shelter with one of my cousin's sheep.

Apparently it's for a survival series he was filming.

Can I ask where you managed to buy a second hand WWII Motor Torpedo Boat?

About 40 years ago there was one moored in Milford Haven with a for sale sign dangling. Not sure if it still had motors in it but it was floating!

WCMUT was a delicious afternoon tea at Bovey Castle just off Dartmoor. Deliberately had a very light lunch and I'm still stuffed!

Finally getting my wardrobes delivered from Homebase yesterday . Ordered on 29/11/15 with delivery promised for 16/12/15, then put back until 30/12/15, then put back until yesterday, so third time lucky. Now looking forward to spending the weekend assembling them.

Rain stopped and sun shining just in time for my outdoor course this afternoon. Fabulous rainbow just before it stopped too.

Getting my nice clean tidy van back after driving a spare heap all week, felt like I needed a bath everyday driving round in it, ful of rubbish and filthy inside,
can see why mine is so popular with the others when I'm not there.

But even better........................................one more day to work and 8 days off :D

Being out and about with the camera after what feels like an ice age of being stuck indoors due to rain.

Wcmut: finally found my light meter again. Don't have to wing it with a smart phone. Yay

Flash Gordon on Tv :)

'Fire when Gordon is in range!'

Flash, wo ho!
Saviour of the Universe!

Changing a headlamp bulb with relative ease. OK, I had to take the unit out to do the job but 3 bolts, one plug, a cover and there it was. Took longer to get to Halfords and back than it did to do the job itself!

Being asked if I wanted a 5p bag for my new DMs and getting a nice hessian one that matched the boots :)
Makes a change from the cheapo flimsy plastic ones (n) oh and getting the boots too

Finding a very very very important sheet of paper that I thought had got lost .

What a relief that is :D

Hmm More like matching the back of a certain Nikon, after a seagull scored a direct hit, missing all the Canon's that were close by :D

Just shows gulls have good aim, no point in a direct hit on an already crappy Canon (y)

As if I would

Did I mention names :p

WCMUY was being within an inch or 2 of a tiger (Amur/Siberian). Thanks to Mrs Nod for arranging the experience, Stripe (original name for a tigress - NOT!!!) for being so placid and not scent marking us!, Mike and the rest of the staff down at Dartmoor Zoological Park for offering the experience. Hopefully got a couple of half useable shots, although having the camera set to ISO200 inside a very dimly lit building (I knew I should have worn my bifocals rather than contact lenses but chose the contact route due to the rain/drizzle in the air when we left home in the morning...) gave me rather ... challenging-for-handholding shutter speeds. Got plenty of excellent Mk 1 eyeball time with her though.

WCMUT: Having spoken to Central Beds council on Wednesday regarding a replacement blue badge, they duly posted it out on Thursday (1st signed for) and it was (sort of) delivered yesterday*

The process normally takes a week but I told them I was going away on Monday so she said she would fast track it. She was true to her word and it was a great relief to get it today.

* See the WAMT thread for Royal Mails attempt to mess things up!

All's well that ends well, Marc! Glad it's sorted in time for your trip.

Just remembered another thing from yesterday that put a smile on my face. Some may remember a couple of shots of the cheetah at DZP that I posted a couple of years ago, with her being decidedly dreadlocked. While we were chatting with the keeper, I commented on it and the fact that she's currently looking a lot more kempt. It seems that she's getting on a bit and isn't as flexible as she used to be so can't groom herself properly, hence the locks. However, she's also been hand reared and is as tame as they can ever be so they have managed to comb most of the crappy stuff out. If only that sort of hands on experience was available to us mere mortals!

Does Scarlett Johanssen still work there? ;)

No and I was looking forward to re-enacting the snog scene with her as a grand finale.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the experience despite that though! Could do with being longer but to be literally a couple of inches away from such a magnificent creature is a bit special.

£250 parts £250 labour + vat service on my Izusu 4x4
WCMUT? I wasn't paying the bill and its running a lot better :)

A wee dram and haggis wi' neeps'n'tatties for me supper.

WCMUT was finding a Nikon P900 in stock. Even better, it's second hand so £100 cheaper than brand new. Surprised to find one second hand since they're so hard to get hold of new!

Just bought my daughter a new Steiff teddy bear, it will be a nice surprise for her when she gets it :)

Taking delivery of my Honda CRF 450 X Enduro to have a go at 'Green Laning' for the first time in 30 years !!:eek::eek:

Receiving my appointment for my MRI scans already. Pretty good going NHS, nice and quick and a very good 8:30 appointment so I don't even have to take a day off.
