WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Yup, I used to have a rider policy with NU! There were several of us who took it in turns to be the legal owner/registered keeper of several bikes while the others had cheaper insurance and were covered while riding them.
None of us had bikes that were worth much back then!
It did cause me to get 3 tickets for the same offence on 3 different bikes at the same time in the same place - would have been fun getting that to court but it was a £30 fine for each offence and no points so I just paid up and got the cash off the other 2 riders!

Driving through floods and mud in the works van, great fun creating massive tidal waves :D

Its like stamping in puddles when you were a kid, but without getting your feet wet isn't it?

Yep but you don't need to be a kid to stamp in puddles, I still do ;) just hope I never find a Vicar of Dibley one though
Of course the advantage of being the works van is.....................I don't have to pay if it breaks :)

So long as you're considerate to pedestrians. My experience as a pedestrian is that the vast majority of drivers aren't. One time last year we had very heavy rain, and this woman drove past me at about 30mph creating a tidal wave about 8 feel high. I couldn't have got wetter if I'd gone swimming.

Where I go there aren't many pedestrians in this weather, muddy woodland track and I am careful about it anyway having been a victim myself.
Mind you the look on one guy's face when I commented on the deep puddle next to his merc was pure horror and no tempting as it was I
didn't, but he did says his neighbours often do

Well after 4 and bit months of meetings, telephones discussions etc. a clients new web presence went live this evening

Will be even more happier once the invoice is paid :)

@Keith W ... "Dear client, on receipt of a payment of £xxx, your website will go live. Yours, Keith W."

Not quite

The client is an international organisation/charity with whom I have a good ongoing relationship with.

They have already satisfied up front invoices relating to the work, just the final invoice now as per our agreement

WCMUT: The "have you ever seen a ghost?" phone-in on the radio.

WCMUT: The "have you ever seen a ghost?" phone-in on the radio.
That reminds me ................

A visiting professor at Florida State University is giving a seminar on the supernatural.
To get a feel for his audience, he asks: "How many people here believe in ghosts?" About 90 students raise their hands. "Well that's a good start.
Out of those of you who believe in ghosts, do any of you think you've ever seen a ghost?" About 40 students raise their hands.

"That's really good. I'm really glad you take this seriously.
Has anyone here ever talked to a ghost? 15 students raise their hands. "That's a great response. Has anyone here ever touched a ghost?" Three students raise their hands.

"That's fantastic. But let me ask you one question further.....Have any of you ever made love to a ghost?"
One student in the back raises his hand. The professor is astonished. He takes off his glasses, takes a step back, and says, "Son, all the years I've been giving this lecture, no one has ever claimed to have slept with a ghost.
You've got to come up here and tell us about your experience."

The redneck student replies with a nod and a grin, and begins to make his way up to the podium.
The professor says, "Well, tell us what it's like to have sex with a ghost."

The student replies, "Ghost? Damn..... From back there I thought you said 'goats'!"

New washing machine has arrived, finally can get muddy clothes washed.
It plays music when it stops :( just got to work out how to turn that off

What make is it ?

Then I can avoid it when mine gives up the ghost .

Lol it's a Samsung eco bubble and I've worked out how to turn the music off now so all is quiet (y)

Got to say I am well impressed, having done a couple of wash loads today, very quiet and spins almost dry, half the time in the tumble drier (y)

what else cheered me up, 5 more days to work then 8 days off, roll on Friday

Changed over my aging Audi RNS-E navigation system in the car for a Chinese Android based system. Besides a few stupid mistakes along the way it is very very good indeed. Even the steering wheel controls work.

For the price of upgrading my system to integrate Bluetooth I've now got a bang up to date system with DAB+ as well.

Ok Google - Take me to Nirvana.

nah - a river where there was no bridge :)

or better still [ did once happen to us ] finding a flight of steps at the end of a one way street :D

Ploughed field / interface?
:D
More like not realising my rear speakers have their own amp, and the fm radio utilises powered diversity aerials. And he locking keys not lock so carefully pulling on the screen to try and make it come out.

WCMUT: Well yesterday to be exact; the christmas pantomime by The Devil's Horsemen in their banqueting hall. It was definitely a different New Years Eve and really good fun.

I have met their boss, and his son, a few times over the years at country shows and I found them to be quite approachable. In talking to them I was stunned to find that the number of films in which they have been involved runs into the hundreds and that the horse in the Lloyds Bank advert which ran for many years was also theirs.

They are based just on the western outskirts of MK and there have a few scenes of films shot in the localish area.
One that springs to mind is the First Knight some of which was filmed around the Ivinghoe area

WCMUT was leftover pizza which has been basted/marinated gently overnight in the olive oil and chilli mixture from a pack of olives in chilli sauce and the oil that had seeped out of the artichoke hearts I'd put on the pizza to jazz it up a bit. Like a good curry or chilli which matures overnight, the flavours had combined even better than last night when I had it hot.

I like it when that happens. I made a load of chilli (con carne) last night, with my own chilli peppers and some bought-in ghost pepper powder. It's now in the fridge, hopefully developing... and improving...

Went to see Star Wars at the cinema with my daughter this afternoon, Amie and I thoroughly enjoyed it :)

Another thing to CYU!

IIRC there was a similar storyline in the sitcom about a newsroom.

As there isn't a what made me PMSL today thread I'll put this here...

A woman walking a dog, with leopard print ankle length boots on ( Yes, the woman, not the dog)
the dog trotting by her side, no taller than the top of her boots, with a matching leopard print coat on,
I wasn't sure where she ended and the dog began TBH :D

Just got into MTB riding, and went for a lunchtime dash today. Great fun and left me grinning. (and wet)

Are you sure it wasn't a Chihuahua walking a pet leopard wearing a person coat?

It might be time for you to take some of your tablets.

I think she's already taken some of yours, Keith! (Had to check my stash to make sure they weren't mine...)
