With 20% off an ebay purchase I got me a prime lens - one I had been after for a long time so a big thank you to lostsoulal2 for posting it.
Not so sure about the amount I had to spend to save £50 but hey......!
Other good stuff was an hour long phone chat with a mate I'd not spoken to for ages and my youngest daughter getting 5 merits in one day at school. She is so like me.....

the goodnews is we arent making you redundant at xmas

the bad news is that you'll get your P45 in the post on january 2nd instead

An excellent steak for lunch. Guaranteed to cheer me up!

Three days off :banana::woot:

Donning my Crombie coat for the first time this autumn. Smart as.....

The cat not coming in when called. Meant I couldn't meet the MiL (whose talk hole rarely gives her listening/thinking holes a chance) and her friend (who the MiL thinks talks too much...) for coffee. Opening the cat flap ( ;)) means that the cat's now in so I can get down to town to meet Mrs Nod and go for some lunch... :whistling:

...you're a baaad man... :D

That's more like it.

Good thing is I have 18 years service so the payout should be good. [emoji30]
Over 41yrs old by any chance. Not sure if it's standard practice or employer specific, but my employer pays 1.5yrs pay for every years service over the age of 40 too.

Not really - I will be providing a free taxi service to the MiL for a hospital appointment next Thursday which will entail a 20 mile drive to collect her, a 20 mile drive to deliver her to the hospital (for a 9am appointment) then the same pair to return her home.

BTW, the lunch was delicious (Thai Jasmine in Exeter). Not massive portions but delicious and well cooked (I had squid which is easy to get wrong!)

Last day at my current job, 3 weeks off starts here... Come home to find my BeerHawk order has arrived... :)

The Bing homepage (make sure sound is enabled and speakers are on).. :D

Going on the "Battle of the Somme" that's being re-enacted out there, it sounds as though Nov 5th
has been combined with "begging with menaces"

It'll all be over by Christmas :)

Oh wait a minute, didn't Monty say that in 1914?

Finding a new more comfy loo seat that fits the damn awkward loo :D

Its been attributed to him among others.

But I guess its a bit like "Play it again Sam" ;)

I'm fairly sure monty didn't say 'play it again sam' ...... for one thing penguins can't talk ;)

Getting rid of lots of rubbish at the tip. Finally able to see a decent amount of carpet in some rooms that have been junked up for ages :)

Buying lots of new camera kit admittedly it's replacement for stolen kit but I've also treated myself.

Vodafone solving my phone problems, and then some! :D

Being asked to have the 2 borrowadogs for christmas :D sod the human race that's me sorted

Reaching the end of my shaving experiment and finally using a fresh blade.

(For those wondering, I used the same Mach3 blade to shave every other day for roughly 1 year 3 months. It was perfectly fine for about a year but got a bit draggy in the last few months.)

This morning's shave was bliss. :)

The last month was a bit ropey but it's surprising how long they last and still give a great shave (with some patience).
LOL I never "time" my blades, when they scrape I put a new one in, I doubt that I've got close to that TBH, but what with the price of the damned things, I make them last as long as possible too ;)
