WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Seeing so many old people at the drive tech speed awareness course. I knew it. All mouth but in the mean time flaunting the law. :p

WCMUT Even more, that the 4 hours of national speed awareness course are over....bar the stats on impact speed it was all rather boring and drawn out.

But I understand that they serve tea and biscuits at these places? :D

Nope, I had to buy my own at hotel prices :( There was free parking though ....

It's Friday.

What? Where? Rushes to Tesco...

Yup. At my local Tesco they had a few single-rows of their usual ale section set aside for "clear-out" ales: Fullers ESB for 75p, Fullers 1845 for 80p and Tesco Golden Ale (noble-hop pale ale, not bad at all) for 51p, all 500ml bottles.

After a summer of hoppy pale ales I need some dark ale practice for the autumn, so I bagged me a few of the fullers... and very nice they are! :D

Always a treat!
I take it they've previously taken that amount from you in error or something?

When I paid a loan off early in 2011 they charged me for the interest I would have paid over the full term, I had no idea. The refund came out of the blue!

Those kind of surprises are always good! :-)

Must be a lot of that about, I just had similar. Took them over 2 weeks to issue the cheque though.

Wcmut - My old car passed its mot straight today, even the last minute brake light warning disappeared :) not bad, then again it was stood still for the last 2 years. Now to figure out how to get it off sorn.

ESB is my go-to 'house ale' so I'm jealous of your good fortune. :p

Tax it online with the V5 document ref number. Nice and easy now :)

HSBC here, the letter today says the funds will be transferred on Monday.

I do wonder what brought this to light, some kind of audit I suppose :/

I guess they are worried about all this PPI lark, and were running a few checks?
I hope you got 4 years interest on that too :D

As Suz said, it should be easy to tax it online BUT sometimes, older vehicles don't have enough digits in their document number to do so so you might need to visit a post office to do it in person. PITA but easy enough to do.

WCMUT: Very productive day, rewiring the phone sockets and more than doubling my download speeds, fixed the patio door, fixed the front door, fixed a ceiling lamp, installed new Linux vm, stocked up on venison fillet (yum yum), helped with home work. And feeling rather healthy....Nice one.

WCMUT: a massive comeback for Liberal politics in Canada (going from 36 seats in 2011 to a majority 184 in 2015). Hopefully we can see something similar in British politics as the Conservatives and Labour seem hell-bent on making themselves all but unelectable to anyone of moderate, pragmatic disposition.

The Sun's come out again, just in time for my coursework this afternoon!

Back in May this year I asked my insurance company how much to add my daughter, it almost doubled the premium for some unknown reason :(
Policy is due for renewal at the end of this month so asked again, how odd, it's now about £30 for the year

Adding someone 1/2 way through an insurance term will almost certainly attract assorted fees, while renewal with changes rarely seems to. Glad it's not extortionate. If she's had a significant birthday in the meantime, that might make a big difference too.

What 50? All the significant age milestones came and went and my insurance never went down significantly. Didn't even go down significantly until I got the current car and it's a much higher group than the previous car.

WCMUT, s****y EE broadband actually stayed connected to enable me to put in a last second bid on a 1:18th scale model of my car. Even with p&p from France it's almost half the price of models on sale in the UK.

Friends cat i adopted in September that went missing within days has just strolled in. Bit thinner than she was but I think she's just realised she might have to make more of an effort to fit in rather than growling at the pre-existing residents. Life isn't so bad here compared to that outside place. Especially not now it's a lot colder!

Mine's about the same now as it was when I was 19. Mind you, back then I had a Frogeye Sprite!

My baby Ella has finally been discharged from the PDSA after recovering from her fractured hock :):)

Finding a mother load of Sloes in Cambridgeshire.
Not as plump as other years, but still ripe and serviceable (hic) :D

I had to read that twice - "he's taken his kid to the PDSA  ' I presume Ella is a horse or may be a dog ?
