WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Getting the wall mounted fan heater in the bathroom repaired so I can sit and park me fudge in the warm again.

Also a new programmeable wireless room thermostat fitted which may hopefully save me some money on gas.

Lightning fast weather changes. From horizontal snow to glorious sunshine in a couple of minutes. Just hope my meagre talent can do the scenes a little justice.

Saving two hundred pounds on an oil change through three phone calls. Up yours to my normal dealer in Hampstead and thank you West London. That is some decent beer tokens.

Wcmut: A lovely cheddar and English mustard sandwich on home made bread. Well deserved after a long dog walk.

Bloody photographers leaving sodding footprints all over the fardling beach then getting in my shot! Actually, it didn't AMMAA since there was plenty of virgin sand and it was easy enough to get low enough to lose the other photographers behind the chunks of ice. It was a shame that the weather wasn't more cooperative but since that's beyond anyone's control (and, let's face it, there are far worse things to get annoyed about than the weather!!!) I'll suffer in silence!View attachment 32713

Just because it was the same when I was there last year!

BTW hope the weather improves for you all! :)

Wcmut: Just life in general; its light outside when I wake up next to my beautiful English rose. Didn't cut myself shaving. Our dog is happy to see me wanting to play and wag his tail even after breakfast. My daughters managed more than a grunt this morning and even wished me good luck for an important meeting. Trains are running on time. Great day here in England.

Aren't you meant to keep bank statements for 7 years? I do, probably unnecessarily.

I keep them for about five minutes. Same with pay slips. No point keeping a copy of something when someone else has the original.

Steve.

Well actually it was yesterday but I got side tracked... I finally got a roll of film developed that had been in the camera since last year!

Getting into work this morning and finding that agreeing to swap my day off on friday for yesterday was a brilliant idea :D
Apparently it was pretty manic ;)

wcmut: I quite liked the budget actually

I don't know if I should post here in the cheered up thread or in the annoyed thread - a bit of both really!

I have been looking for the paper part of my driving licence since Friday. Last night I found it... in the cupboard I normally keep documents in... having searched in the same place three times already!

Steve.

In 3 months time you wouldn't have needed to look for it at all

Only if I paid for a new licence with everything on it. I will have to do that anyway in two years as my picture will be out of date, or sooner if I want to re-apply for classes C and D - more expense as a medical report is required.

The paper part is fairly pointless as the only thing it shows is a list of convictions (none in my case). It doesn't even show which classes of vehicle you can drive!

Steve.

There will be no "new licence with everything on it".
In June, the paper counterparts are to be destroyed. No need to apply for a new one.
When it comes time to renew a licence, the new one won't even show motoring offences.
All relevant info will be held on DVLA's driver record database and will be accesible to anyone....it's how care hire companies will check records for instance.
Same with businesses or employers who check driving licences. They'll then do it online.
Driving licences will become little more than ID really.

It's there already... except that currently, you need to enter your driver No, postcode and tax code to get to the information.

Indeed. My point really was more this......

Unless, as you say, you're adding classes :-)

That's a bit of a PITA! The actual date for the demise of the paper counterpart is the 8th of June and IIRC, that's the day I'll be hiring a car so will need to take it with me! Just think how much extra space I would have had available if I could leave it behind!!!

Back to WCMUT... Being woken in my own bed by the cat, even if it was at a slightly annoying 2am!!!

That is stunning.

How come it looks like a naked woman laying down to me. Hmm wonder what Freud got to say about that.

Sorry, JP - thanks for the compliment, although I can take no real credit for the shot other than being there and seeing what Nature had set down for me! Not sure what Sigmund would make of your interpretation other than that you would appear to be a healthy adult male with a boobie fixation!!!

So far, the glorious weather has CMUT and I'm considering a brief trip out on the bike to make the most of it while it's here!

Wcmut: got all my jobs done, hard graft, and enjoyed a well deserved ruby. It was so nice.

Wcmut: watching a rerun of top gear on Dave this morning whilst enjoying my bagel. There was this corpulent, argumentative, inconsistent, fist wielding Yorkshireman in a star in a reasonable car. It made me smile and reminded me of someone.

Sleeping until after 7am. Glorious sunny (if chilly) day. Sunday lunch.

Just got home after a trip to the Royal Albert Hall for the Classics Spectacular.

Fantastic! Complete with cannons and fireworks.

I used my boom for the first time, and discovered the 'sandbag' was perfect to hold 2 bottles of beer which counterbalanced the beauty dish perfectly.
(Over the weekend - not this morning)

You won't have room for that piece of A4 paper with your travel directions on now!

Steve.

I'll be taking my personal organiser (Mrs Nod!) and I'm pretty sure I can find the right plane at this end as well as the car hire guy being able to recognise me at the far end. Then it's just a matter of heading West until I spot the forklifts on my right and following a well worn path.

WCMUT? A long overdue haircut after leaving it "long" (almost an inch!!!) for warmth.

This weekend, clearing out shed 1 or as its now known as "little Jamaica" and Mrs eeyore said it would be perfect for a brewery....

Getting a rough edge on my teef sorted for free! (Broke a corner off the plate and it left a sharp edge that was annoying my tongue.)

WCMUT....A really good friend :-)
