WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Is the net screwed down and well supported? The MiL had a pond (note the past tense!) full of fish and had it netted. The heron learned to stand on the netting to sag it down to water level then stabbed its way through. Clever bathtubs!

It's really well secured even if it does stand on it it shouldn't sag more than an inch or two

you can see the frame in full in this crappy image

Electrify zee vensing unt net, NOW:mad:

Would love to do that ;)

Much as I like my job it's nice to have some time off, especially when you don't know you are due it, could have carried it over to next year
but then the same thing will probably happen
4 days of mine is carried over from last year. I already have another 10 more days I accrued at the start of January, In April I'll get another 15 days. Problem is the shifts are only 8hrs including lunch, Monday to Thursday, Friday is 5.5hrs it already feels like I get loads of time off.

Ignoring the annoyance of f/0.5 eyes for an hour or so, a few things have cheered me up so far today.
Firstly, the clear blue sky and bright sunshine. Secondly, getting seen well before my designated appointment time at the Diabetic Eye Screening clinic - I was out from a 1/2 hour appointment 10 minutes after my designated appointment.

f/0.5 eyes
Not a phrase I've heard before, but I know what it means! It always seems to be a really bright and sunny day whenever I have to have it done, and my eyes are quite sensitive to light at the best of times... Ouch!

Oh those dilating drops are a treat, aren't they!

Extra strength bifocal shades. Indoors! Had to sign a piece of paper assuring specsavers that I wouldn't wear them to drive at night since they're way too dark. Meant I could see without squinting. Just about back to normal now. Kubrik could have used my pupils for "that" scene in AN...

And you wouldn't have even needed to remove them either :p

WCMUT was attending my first TP meet in probably about 2 years if not a little more, and it was great fun, even if I'm not fit enough yet, or lost enough weight yet I still had a lot of fun...

Shame my shadow is in this photo though

My Boss telling me to make sure I visited our offices in both Berlin and Zurich before the end of Q2...Result!

LOVE Zurich.
Such a shame I have to go there a couple of times a year too.
Terrible hardship ;)

Must be awful! How do you cope?

I got lucky this time. We have regional offices in the UK as well, and one of my colleagues got Bedford and Manchester. I definitely got the better deal this time :)

Bedford versus Zurich...hmmmm, let me think

What's the matter with you ? Bedford is the (Multi) cultural capitol of the UK :D

Depends on your perspective. I expect all the employees in Zurich/Berlin are wishing they could have a visit to Bedford/Manchester.

No. No. what am I thinking.

Actually, I think they would rather visit Bedford or Manchester than my office in Harlow, Essex ;)

I'm a couple of days late but MCMU on Tuesday was being allowed home after my annual MRI brane scan - after the first one I had, I wasn't allowed home for 12 days or so and was sliced from ear to ear over the top!

What cheered me up to day. As my driving ban is ending I can look for cars a bit more seriously. Getting insurance quotes and they are not terrible (rather affordable even with a DD40) even for a 61 reg Merc E class like this

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201503051438137/sort/default/model/e_class/onesearchad/used,nearlynew,new/make/mercedes-benz/maximum-age/up_to_6_years_old/postcode/g848da/price-to/14000/fuel-type/petrol/maximum-mileage/up_to_50000_miles/radius/1501/advert-type/featured-listing/dealer-id/13713/usedcars

Happy days. Insuring a Honda Accord costs £60 less per year and a Volvo S80 £80 more per year on £500pa

Driving back from Whipsnade and finding that my new satnav with free traffic actually works,
saved me time getting stuck in traffic on M25 and A3 through Guildford, Made it home a few mins later then original
estimated time :D

Watching my team, Falkirk, win their Scottish Cup quarter final tonight

Packed and underweight! (Obviously not me, our cases!!!)

Hey. .. you can't quote my post in WAMT and WCMUT!!!

(oh, you just did!).

Steve

Finally clearing out & shredding the last 2 years of bank statements and other rubbish I seem to have accumulated
Got loads of room in my filing cabinet now and a whole bin liner stuffed with shredded paper :D

Wcmut getting an invite to a stag party up the toon. Should be fun.

Aren't you meant to keep bank statements for 7 years? I do, probably unnecessarily.

I scan and shred. Scan and shred :)

Sounds a good plan... If you are confident that if your hard disk crashes, you have backup copies of your scans safe somewhere else.(DVD, external disk, USB drive, cloud or whatever)

The entertainment value of the men in the building (here at work) gathering in the kitchen / foyer / stairwell / ANYWHERE....to discuss and bemoan the possible demise of their beloved Top Gear.

A colleague of mine has ordered one as well on my recommendation :)
